Visited Waterstones sunderland yesterday and just wanted to say a few words about the young lad, Jonny, who served us. He made myself and my grandson feel so special, was able to find exactly the books we wanted, and made the experience such fun. First class customer care as it should be
Immensely pleased that the store assistant located a soft cover alternative within 5 mins. Looking forward to reading on work commute.
Just popped in for quick visit. Loads of titles to choose from /various sections too. Unfortunately didnt havevtime for a good browse. Good bookshop nonetheless.
Very good book shop with a nice cafe upstairs (has a lift)
Always my favourite place to visit in the shopping centre. I love their selection of hand selected books along with personal notes about them which makes you feel your being served by people who care rather than in a chain.
I love this store. Lovely, helpful staff. Books galore. If they don't have what you're looking for they will see if another branch has a copy or look into ordering one for you. I can spend hours in there, mentally spending hundreds (if not thousands) of pounds.
Great place to eat, warm, friendly staff and clean toilets. Not one to go to if you have and mobility problems as there is a number of stairs to climb.
Nice cafe, there was a Gruffalo present and a reading of story. The wee man loved it!
Always great pleasure to shop here, great staff fantastic service and great quality of books
Went to pick up a pre ordered book. Took all of one minute. Great service and the book, unlike from on line, was perfect. Recommended.
I love the cafe in here. Lesley is a lovely person and she is very caring when it comes to my son jack that has autism. Nothing is too much of a problem for her. Staff in the cafe are professional and the cafe area looks well kept and clean at all times. I tend to order my books π online so it's very rare that i buy from Waterstones, however i have brought the odd gift for a friend in there and staff were friendly and helpful.
Great bookshop and cafe with lovely, friendly staff. They'll do everything they can to find the book you want and are knowledgeable and full of recommendations. There is a wide selection, and they will order you books if they aren't there - they come very quickly. Lots of offers, too. Coffee shop upstairs is highly recommended for probably the nicest coffee in town, and a tempting range of sandwiches and cakes. There is a lift and a loo, which is good to know! Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely ambiance in the cafe; quiet jazzy, background music, accompanied by friendly and helpful staff in a gorgeous setting due to being surrounded by books. Plus the coffee is delicious and reasonably priced - massive props for not charging extra for milk alternatives as a lot of the big brands do!
The usual 5 stars for the waterstones group of shops. The staff are so friendly and professional all the time. The shops are spotless. Kitchen. Toilets. Main floor. Etc. πππ― They have just about any book that you will ever need. The food in the kitchen is well presented and freshly made as you wait. Nice selection of drinks and cakes scones etc. Grate place for a wee catch up for the older people. All the shops seem to have great staff running them and keeping them in order. From scotland to England. I have been in most of them doing deliverys to the kitchens. Delivering the sandwiches. Highly recommended. Keep the good work up. Well done waterstons. π―π―π¬π§πππππ¬π§πππππ
Great shop, friendly staff.
This is probably the best book shop in Sunderland. The range of books is well displayed. You will soon find your favourite corner. The staff know and believe in what they are selling. They can use their personal experience to find what you want or recommend something that you will enjoy. Upstairs is a comfortable cafe with lovely food and books to read. What more do you want?
Love coming to Waterstones, usually for the kids section which is great, and we usually stop for a cuppa. Great hot drinks and a small selection of food including teacakes, sandwiches, cookies and cakes. Not great for picky eaters, but still a great pit stop while visiting the city. The staff are friendly. The cafe and some books are upstairs which is accessible by a lift at the very back of the shop.
