Lovely pub very inviting. Food was tasty fulling and well worth the money.. Staff were lovely and very helpful, asking if I needed help to carry my drink from the bar to the table as I use a walking stick to get about. Would highly recommend to any wanting a proper meal or a light bite to eat as there is plenty to choose from. *****

Had the dog with us so chose to eat in the beer garden, but you can have dogs inside at the far end of the bar. Homemade chips are lovely. Good portion sizes and good value

Absolutely beautiful! When we got there it was very busy, but the staff were very attentive and said the wait shouldn't be too long. It wasn't at all, and one lady in particular (the older lady) jumped in to action to tidy up, so we could have the table. We ordered the carvery. It's one of the best carverys I've ever had, and I've had a lot 😂😂 Very reasonable prices too. We will definitely be back. The same lady who looked after us also gave the kids a packet of sweets each. Super customer service and beautiful food. I'm going home for an after lunch snooze now; very content 😂

Had sunday carvery with my sister. Went at 12 20pm. No seats inside but plenty outside on the terrace. Hardly any queue. Paid for 2 large lunches. Beef and turkey was smashing. All veg was hot and tasty. Really enjoyable lunch

We were on a break at Roker beach, we called in quite late but managed to get our food order in. I had the Beef baguette and the wife had the chicken melt baguette, it was stacked with plenty of meat with loads of home made chips. The barman was friendly and we didn’t wait long for our meals. We’re planning another break at Roker and we will visit here again.

Lovely local pub and beautiful homemade food. Reasonably priced. The chips are an absolute win if you appreciate 'proper' chips and not frozen chips.

Eaten here a few times with family, today was girlfriend & our 7yr old Son. Friendly service at bar when ordering and information of what's available. Slight wait due to busy time, however, well worth it! Son had Sausage, chips and gravy - loved the sausages and gravy! Girlfriend ordered fish and chips with mushy peas - Whale came out! She loved it! I ordered Kiev and chips - chicken was succulent and garlic flowed as I cut in! (I like garlic). Chips were old school, handmade and tasted delicious! Cost was just over £30 and was 3 meals + drinks. Staff are always extremely friendly and nothing is a problem.

Fab pub food . Lovely home made chips!! Reasonably prices and kids eat for free with an adult meal. We have been a few times and never been dissapointed. Pictures attached are a midweek carvery and a chicken BBQ melt baguette.

They have a fantastic 3 course £10 meal deal, which you will be hard pushed to find a better one around. Highly recommended the Chocolate Brownie, one of the best I've ever had. Also a decent selection of beers on offer.
