Friendly staff, enjoyed the night, little taste of Mexico š
Finally bringing more food variety to Sunderland! This is a very good Mexican restaurant. The food is delicious and you cannot complain about the portion sizes. They do quite a selection of Mexican food. Staff could have been a little more attentive when we were last in as we were one of the only two tables and it was hard to catch their eye if we needed more drinks. But staff are very friendly and it's a lovely, well set out restaurant and I love the decor.
Lovely decor and layout. Waitress very knowledgeable of menu. Food was served quickly and layed out on wooden boards.
Tom Collins cocktails were delicious.
Great place would definitely revisit.
Lovely meal, friendly staff and nice decor. Value for money especially the early bird menu. Drinks were also reasonable. You even get free Bridges parking as they'll exchange for a free ticket. Will definitely go back.
FantƔstico!
Service was brilliant, the staff really looked after us. Food was delicious and great value for money (we came at Early Bird time as we had young kids with us). Couldn't fault it, we'll definitely be back.
Went for tea with the hubby 12-01-19. Quite, but it was early. Food was really nice. Tasty nachos and jalapeƱo poppers recommended. Main courses both delicious. No sign of salad bar, this is pushed on Web and menu. Good selection of drinks. Staff all friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
Oh wow! What fantastic food. I went in with my daughter for the lunchtime special on Saturday. I eat out so often and am particular about the quality of food. This place was amazing, the food was so tasty. My daughter had the chicken skewers, it came with big fat chunks of chicken and big pieces of pepper. The homemade chips were so yummy, soft and fluffy inside. I had the enchilada dish. There was no skimping on the chicken, either. The wraps were packed with delicious meat, veg and sauce. The freshness of the food was apparent. It was made up to order. We had some of each others food and loved it. Chocolate brownie dessert was full of chocolate chips and the warm melt in your mouth texture was gorgeous. I had some of chefs homemade rice pudding. It was the nicest I've ever tried. It had an apple compote on top of it with apple chips and raisins. It was heavenly. Don't let me forget the coffee, the latte was so creamy and smooth, I loved it, had a second one with dessert. I travel alot and eat at so many places. Food served to me is ok or decent. This wasn't. It was amazing. It was my first 10/10 in years. I had to meet the owner to tell him how incredible the food was and I also thanked the chef and bought him a drink before I left. The restaurant staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful explaining the dishes to me. The lay out is big. Lots of dining tables, very clean, well kept restaurant. I just wish I lived in Sunderland because I'd eat there often. I'm over there in February and know we're I'm eating. Looking forward to it already
Thought we'd have a go in this place with a restaurant week voucher. We didn't expected to get a decent portion of food for the price but we were wrong. Enough choice on the menu for everyone, and when it came it didn't disappoint, the food was really nice. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 was it was a little difficult to get the staff's attention so we could pay the bill, but overall we enjoyed the place and the meal.
After an afternoon on the peeve & searching for a decent frozen margarita, whilst shuffling along for a taxi, happened upon Tequila Tequila, nearly been in a couple of times but hadnāt for whatever reason, so pleased we did this evening. Looks a bit iffy from outside but itās great once you get in! Brilliantly decorated, & much bigger than expected, it was canny busy & when we told the chap serving us we only wanted a drink was shown to a table, the waitress serving us was lovely, telling us about deals on the drinks, after looking at the menu we asked her if we could eat, we had been told it was fully booked with hods of large parties due in, we didnāt want to cause any bother but she couldnāt have been more attentive & helpful, organising our seats & additional food with no fuss, the grub was excellent, wor lass loving the tequila battered king prawns, we shared a grande fajita of steak strips n chicken, all superbly cooked. Amazingly our eyes were bigger than our combined bellyās & asked if we could have a doggy bag for the plentiful meat left, again sorted immediately. Drinks, food, value for money all excellent only topped by the fantastic service by Jess. 100% will be back.
Great place to meet and eat. Staff very nice and helpful. Location is good near to car parks bus and rail stn. My first thought nice big place clean and welcoming. Then when I left I was full and I enjoyed it all.
Decent food at a decent price. Not a lot of spice to our food but I am sure they would be obliging. Friendly staff & worth another visit.
Called by chance approx 8.30 Easter Sunday evening after returning to town from a lovely afternoon party in the Clarendon.we were not bothered about where we ate but after a slow walk up via high street we were stunned to find most of the restaurants opposite and next to the empire were either closing or closed????? On a very busy sunny eve where there were lots of " passing trade" we had already been stopped by two separate families asking where they could get something nice to.eat and we were stuck as where to send them as after the experience of them closing we were not sure of who was open.....we decided to walk round green tce for a taxi home and had forgotten about Tequila Tequila which we had agreed we must visit at some time....as a change from our usual favourite Sorrento's....we were surprised at the lovely decor and clean and pretty layout and were over the moon to be given such a warm friendly welcome after our previous refusals...the staff were charming amusing and very efficient and our food and drinks arrived very promptly.thereevwas also a free salad bar but the portions were so big we never visited it.i had chilli and side order of fries and my husband had king prawn fajitas...not very busy but still great ambience.definately returning and please support this beautiful restaurant.we ashamedly admitted we arrived by default but couldn't fault a thing.lovely food service and staff.whats not to like?.
Chain restaurant in the old Varsity pub building, decorated in faux Mexican style. Pleasant staff, nice food, all in all an enjoyable evening. Don't expect haute cuisine, but what they do, they do reasonably well.
Party of 12 with a range of meals and everyone very happy .
Lovely tasty food very good service .
Prices are s bit high but if the food is nice it's worth it and ideas really tasty so we had a great night.
I was not sure if I would like Mexican food as I am not into spicy food but the manager of the restaurant guided me through the menu and recommend a dish for me which was perfect. The restaurant staff are very pleasant especially the manager who took the time to speak to the customers and service was excellent I would highly recommend this for a good night out.
