Amazing experience! Food was phenomenal and well cooked. All the staff were very kind and welcomed us nicely. 5 stars! Totally recommend!!!
We went for the first time on Friday night following a disaster in Aperitif where we were soaked due to a burst pipe and water gushed through a light down onto our table. There was zero customer care and no one came to see if we were OK so we left and went to the Engine Room. We explained what had happened and that we had 2 young adults with special needs in our party who were very distressed over the situation. The staff were brilliant and looked after us, making sure we got food quickly so we could get in to see the start of the show. We can't thank you enough for saving our night. We have already booked to come back. Thank you π
We had a great lunch. The food is amazing. I think I had the best large salad ever. The rest of the group had different things - all really good.
Menu selection excellent - varied and definitely something for everyone (inc me a fussy vegetarian!)
Service excellent and staff really friendly and accommodating on the whole. Service a little slow but probably because there was only one server on - who was great but run off his feet.
Only criticism would be the one girl server who completely ignored us for some reason!
Really good value for money too. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
First visit after a recent menu change which I think was needed.
Excellent place, very well laid out, airy and as expected great character.
Not too busy but it did pick up a little around 1pm.
Three staff on so we expected pretty quick service but I and a few others did have to visit the bar for more drinks and a long wait time for desserts.
Meal options were good but I'd say the dinner menu is better than the lunch for sure.
I found the club Sandwich to be a tad on the dry side but luckily sauces are provided at the table. My husband found the shin beef to be tasty and well cooked.
Desserts and drinks were the best part for us.
Excellent banoffee waffles would highly recommend.
Staropramen draft also great.
Will be back for the cocktails at dinner time!
First time visiting, though I've wanted to for year's just never had anyone to take,
I was greeted with a hearty hello and seated for orders, a minute later asked if we wanted drinks, they came and we ordered food and starters,
Good came out within a respectable time, and looked and tasted fantastic π
After an amazing meal and atmosphere I'm pleased to say I hope to return again soon 5πππ
Post workout pint and coffees after training with the NEFRS BOXING club at SUNDERLAND COMMUNITY HUB. Great venue with very helful staff. Unfortunately did not have food as looked amazing. Managed to get a seat despite lots of reservations. Im sure we will be back for food at some point. Thanks to ALAN and his staff for looking after us π
Ordered the teriyaki salmon with rice for dinner. It was quite yummy.
Visited before going to the Empire Theatre. We had no trouble getting a table for 2 however it may be advisable to book if you are a bigger party and attending a show
Visited for a pre theatre meal. It was Saturday early evening and it was busy! Service was excellent from the start. Shown to our table, drinks orders taken and delivered in no time. Food ordered and arrived not long after. We had the camembert dipping platter to start which was deliciously gooey and beautifully presented. For mains we had steak and belly pork both of which were cooked to perfection and again presentation was great. Portion sizes were spot on, generous but not overwhelming.
The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient. Couldn't ask for more.
The only downside was the noise levels because it was very busy, so conversation was tricky, but once the crowds thinned a bit it was better. When the food arrived we were too busy eating it to talk anyway!
Definitely an interesting place.
We'll be back.
Nice food with good prices and an enjoyable atmosphere. I recommend it.

Atmosphere can be a little dull if nothing on at theatres but then lively and crowded if shows are on.
Best to book ahead of either scenarios are important to you.
