Called in yesterday after a bracing walk. I had a prawn sandwich and my husband had a ham and cheese toasted sandwich, we shared a portion of chips and a pot of tea. The sandwiches were fabulous, the bread was thickly sliced very fresh and homemade coleslaw, the ham was thick off the bone ham and the chips were real chips not frozen! We then decided on a second pot of tea and I had peach melba and my husband had Victoria sandwich cakes which were to die for. The decor is beautiful and the staff very friendly. We couldn't fault the place and will most certainly be back.

My daughter and I had afternoon tea there yesterday to celebrate my birthday. Sandwiches were lovely, plenty of filling on thick fresh bread. The scones were just to die for and still warm absolutely delicious. Next came the variety of cakes WOW all washed down with a lovely big pot of tea. We will be returning to try the other options on offer. Lovely staff in a lovely place

Had a meal tonight from the Christmas menu. Every course was delicious. Service was amazing and such friendly, attentive staff. The dessert of rhubarb brûlée and shortbread was divine and probably the best I have ever tasted. The cocktails were fabulous. Five stars given but I could easily give 10. Thanks for an amazing night

I visited with my mam, sister & niece ( belated birthday celebration for my mam & me) we ordered fish & chips afternoon tea, to be told that you normally have too book afternoon tea, but the lovely waitress went to ask if they could honour our order, came back and said it was ok! It came, it was delicious! Very nice decor and very nice and friendly staff! Well worth a visit!

Just had a lovely high tea from here and one of the nicest I've been too, sandwiches were packed full of filling, scone was lovely and warm still which you don't get at many other places, staff was lovely and we're always on hand of you needed anything. also one staff member helped a couple with a baby so they could eat in peace which I think is a special touch they didn't have to do, can't wait to go back

On our way from Hartlepool to Newcastle we wanted some breakfast and Googled! Salt house came up and it was an excellent choice. Warm friendly staff greeted us. Hot plates filled with high quality ingredients. Kippers for me. Full breakfast for hubby. Good clean toilets. Comfy surroundings on beach front. What more could you want!!

Wonderful meals from a warm & friendly staff. Lovely restaurant with good seats & a nice fire to keep you warm on a cold January day. All 3 of us really enjoyed our meals, Scampi, Steak & Ale pie & beer battered fish that my Dad could not finish !! All 3 meals + 4 soft drinks for £50. Well worth it.

This is the best place in Sunderland for a full breakfast, their vegetarian breakfast is beautiful as well. Good size coffees and drinks. Very reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients you get. Hands down one of the best restaurants in the north east.

The Salt House Kitchen is one of the best food destinations in Sunderland, for both breakfast and Sunday lunch. The cafe also boasts a wide selection of homemade desserts and scones for eating in or taking away which is refreshed often. The food is always outstanding and the service is always friendly and attentive. A must visit in the Seaburn area.

Food looked fab, but we only had coffee which was lovely, Other diners at nearby tables all seemed to enjoy their food, the service and atmosphere was great- sitting in the sun watching the world go by with good coffee- perfect! We've already planned our next visit to enjoy a beautiful breakfast!

A group of 6 of us were staying in Seaburn and decided to try here. Beautiful setting, top notch food. So good we booked for breakfast the next day. Shout out to the staff whom were very knowledgeable about the vegan food on the menu.

Great breakfast place as we had our Saturday breakfast with friends. Facing the beach got good views and sitting are not so congested though our nearest table was really LOUD. Avocado on toast was very good

We had a fabulous time and lunch here for my mother in law's birthday. We did reserve a table for 1PM which was wise given how busy it was. We ordered 2x fish and chips, onion rings, potato skins and 1portion of mussels. The fish was huge but beautifully cooked, the chips were golden brown and chunky and it came with mushy peas and tartar sauce. My wife said her mussels were delicious. There was a nice selection of homemade cakes desserts and scones. We order the lemon drizzle for the birthday girl and the staff put a little candle on it. It was also delicious. The wine and beers were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
