Been here a few years ago food was OK but after hearing positive things about this pub,
Thought I would give it another go. I certainly wasn't disappointed I chose the steak and kidney pudding with new potatoes and veg, veg was on a separate plate on your plate don't know what that's about.
It also comes with a separate jug of gravy
The pudding was full of succulent meat no fat, it just fell apart when I cut into it. My wife had thick cut Ham Egg and Chips.
Can honestly say that the steak and kidney pudding was the best I've had.
Enjoyed it so much that I've booked my retirement party meal with them.
And I've also heard from work colleagues that their Sunday roast is something else as well.
High recommend.
Absolutely lovely lunch today with my mum. Best Whitebait & Scampi ever and service was brilliant. Well worth the drive outside of Sudbury and not drinking alcohol. πππππ ABSOLUTELY 5 STAR π
A family meal to celebrate a 60th birthday. Really impressive service, great food, good value and ambiance. They went out of their way to help with cakes and decorations etc and super dog friendly! Would highly recommend.
Had a meal here this evening was absolutely delicious. We had lasagne it was nicely presented tasted gorgeous. I would recommend coming here. Staff were lovely and friendly and attentive. Nicely priced too really enjoyed our meals. If passing pop in you wonβt regret it
We really enjoyed the food. As a vegetarian the nut roast dinner was most welcome. We arrived at 1.30 and as it was so busy had to sit in the shop area, which was very cosy. Despite the busyness the staff were very attentive and it was a very nice experience.
Wonderful Sunday lunch. Melt in the mouth beef, lovely veg and crispy Yorkshire puddings, all along with friendly staff. Will deffinately be returning.

Beautiful pub with amazing food. Very reasonable prices and caters for children through to adults as the atmosphere is beautiful and calming and i would highly reccommend this to anybody. The service is very quick and polite and the food tastes amazing.

7 of us met for a birthday lunch.
Everyone enjoyed the food, generous portions. The drinks were spot on. Charming people serving us. Splendid old pub nice garden easy parking. On a very hot summer day, the place was a perfect temperature.
Not expensive. The menu and the specials board were an uncomplicated selection plenty of choice very nice. And they were more than happy to swap things around to your taste. We will visit again.
Stopped here on the way home, was given a nice table with polite staff and excellent food.
Lots to choose from a menu, dog friendly, by the main road so a bit nosy if sitting outside
Called in on a walk with my dog. Very kind and friendly service. Bacon huffer was delicious and great value. I had mine with a nice cold drink. Will definitely make this a regular stop off and will try the yummy looking cakes and coffee...ππ
Went for lunch today with family. The service was fantastic, friendly and efficient without being over the top. The menu had a lovely variety of dishes with a selection of specials too. Most of us had a different dish but every one was so tasty. Could not recommend enough and of course you have the added bonus of lots of parking

Fantastic food, very generous portions and lots to choose from. The staff were so friendly and welcoming especially the young lad at the bar and who bought food out he was very polite and friendly to all my family and especially my puppy who I took in. I wish I had desert as the options were so nice but the main being so Gilling I had no space although the option to take home was there. I will note for next time. The only down side was there were quite a few flies in the restaurant but that couldn't be helped.
Haven't been here for a while, but what a lovely visit. Very busy at the bar, but staff were quick to get through the customers and still smiling. Food was delicious. My friend had a veg cheese bake of some kind, which came with a huge side salad and a chose of potatoes (chip/new) it was value for money and the best she has had too. I went for the cod and chips which comes in two sizes so you are not wasting food if like me not a big eater.
Another very thoughtful thing, with the ketchup sashes, they provided kids safe scissor, genius !!!
Will be visiting again.
