We were visiting friends and attended David's with them on a music night - which was packed! They kindly managed to fit us in. Couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Food was great. The music was excellent. Company was fantastic. We will definitely return on our next visit. Thanks to everyone!
Beautiful cafe, we stopped by for and impromptu visit. Id recommend booking in advance as it felt we were lucky to get a table!
The food was gorgeous, would highly recommend and can't wait to go back!!!
We popped in for an impromptu breakfast and it was delightful. The breakfast bap was perfectly cooked and they were happy to give the egg to my husband. He had the squished Avocado and added some other bits. The food was so tasty and the portion sizes were perfect. I would definitely recommend for breakfast and I would love to go back for lunch.
I've been here a few times for coffee or breakfast and everytime I'm impressed. The food and drinks are always very nice, freshly cooked and have a little extra from the normal cafe food. David is a lovely guy too, very friendly and welcoming as are the staff. Can't say enough good about this place. And just found out there are evening events too so looking forward to one of those soon.
I have visited this establishment toooo many times, a quick coffee on the go, wonderful. Have eaten there, Breakfast Lunch and Dinner, not all on the same day!!) and enjoyed it. I have even been to one or two special evenings; if you get the chance go! Actually don't go or I won't be able too!
Knowing how booked up they get for Robbie Music Nights, my husband & I made our table reservation for 4 people early last month for the event held last night (March 3rd). We also invited two family members from Ipswich, who appreciate good food & music, to experience the fantastic evening’s entertainment.
As we live locally, we often pop into David’s for a quick coffee and cake or lunch in this, the friendliest business in town, where we are always met with smiles & wonderful food & excellent service by all staff. At a time when small businesses are finding it difficult to make a profit, we should all try to support them in anyway possible. This particular small family business succeeds because of the most excellent meals, prepared & cooked by David and his small staff; the friendliest of welcomes & attention to details (especially to Music Nights & other Special Events) by his lovely wife, Trish; the efficient Bar Staff & Waitresses, who all work their socks off to ensure the smooth running of the business. We also appreciate that the special night events take an enormous amount of time & energy to organise and as we have found, they get booked up so quickly and if we don’t book early enough you risk being placed on a lengthy waiting list!! Unfortunately, we believe some people have recently taken to making reservations for Music Nights & then either turning up very late (maybe just to sit, listen to the music & have a couple of drinks before leaving without eating). When making reservations, it is always made clear that the price INCLUDES food. When people then abuse this booking system, it disrupts the whole organisation in the kitchen & makes for delays in eating for all other customers. This is totally unacceptable & will result in everyone having to pay a substantial deposit when making reservations and we feel so sorry for this lovely family business. Finally, we all thoroughly enjoyed the music, food, ambience of the Wine Bar and will continue to support them as much as we can. Highly recommended ++++++++++++
Oh my days……without a doubt the very best breakfast anywhere in Sudbury has ever served!! The warm welcome and service from both Fran and her father David was (as always) unbeatable! The quality of ingredients is exceptional and everything cooked to perfection. I can’t recommend them more highly enough! I look forward to my next visit and I’ll be sure to point everyone in their direction if they don’t already know about this super place. Bravo guys! Keep doing what you’re doing! Unbeatable!! Without a doubt…definitely worth the money. Amazing place
Best burger experience I've had in a long time.
Stopped by on a busy market day Thursday, very pleasantly surprised to find a coffee shop with a genuine passion for quality coffee. Being rather extensively travelled person who does like a nice strong coffee I find it hard to get that certain something usually missing in the UK, a full bodied strong yet smooth coffee. The service was first class as were the staff. The owner and namesake David really knows his beans! Hadn't got the chance to as yet sample the food menu however it was clear from hearing other customers comments and remarks that they were enjoying theirs. Would very highly recommend stopping by even to just grab a takeaway coffee rather than buy a bland soulless brew elsewhere in the town.
Love David's although the reduced (in every sense!) lunch menu is a bit disappointing. However a gorgeous smoked chicken and avocado salad went down very well indeed! I hope David's will continue to be strict about their "no kids" policy, as we love the peace! Plenty of child-friendly places are available in Sudbury.
What a find, discovered on my first trip to Sudbury.
Great service. Food and coffee and obviously a favourite with the locals.
Highly recommend
Love it here. Food delicious, staff friendly and no children disturbing peace and quite. Burgers and steaks at weekend also really good. Highly recommend.
Always a pleasure to visit this cafe. Nice staff, lovely food and coffee, no children, and a shelf of reading material. Toilets are always clean whenever we visit.
Best scampi I've had in a long time.
Relaxed atmosphere; all the Daily papers; comfortable seating; marvellous coffee, tea, sandwiches of wonderful bread with generous fillings; Danish pastries & cakes are positively scrumptious! Sudbury is one lucky town having David's Continental Cafe within its environs. ..! Oh, and a terrific staff who go beyond the call of duty!!
