What a lunch! The terrine was a masterpiece, the radishes were excellent, the anchovy dressing on the potatoes complimented the incredible breaded pork! The stew with a pastry lid (it’s not a pie) was delicious, the tart was very well made, but I’ve rushed through everything as there were two stars
Dropped in on my motorcycle ride a month or so ago. Staff were vibrant and clearly loved what they were doing - so unusual! Food was a simple burger, but my god it tasted great. Recommended! It was quite, so I left atmosphere at 3 stars, but I'm sure it buzzes when it's busy.
Had a wonderful lunch, all food excellent. The cod roe and small green peppers starter was an inspired combination, exciting the tastebuds and leaving me primed for the main course. The sirloin on the bone for 2 was one of the best steaks I've had for a very long time. Chocolate nemesis pudding with
My favourite restaurant in the area. Ever-changing seasonal menu with beautiful vegetables. Don’t miss dessert, they are beautiful.
Beautiful pub where Laurie Lee of Cider with Rosie fame used to drink. Really lovely staff, friendly and helpful- beautiful views across the valley, lovely vine covered terrace. Worth a visit for sure
My girlfriend booked a table for my birthday and I was very happy with her choice. The food is fresh, tasty, and certainly cooked by proper chefs. The food pictured is buratta, salt cod carpaccio, beef shin pie, and a locally sourced pork chop. P.s they also serve an exceptional pint of Guinness h
A real old Cotswold boozer in the beautiful village of Slad. A range of well kept local beers and ciders, a decent list of pub snacks (proper scotch eggs, pickled cockles…) and some fabulous outdoor seating (picnic tables shaded by vines with plants on the tables and great views across the valley) m
Phenomenal location and famous for Laurie Lee. The only pub I have been too where there is a world class view behind it. Come and enjoy some cheese and crackers with a pint.
Nice location. Friendly service. Food was ok. A bit overpriced and overly faffy menu
Well like many or maybe just some visitors I came to visit Laurie Lee the pub the church and Slad valley some 50 years after I had walked and hitchhiked through Spain from Pamplona to Madrid and beyond when I was 19ys young. So great to see the inn and its preserved history and a couple of local pin
Good pub. Great food and a lovely welcome. Suspect we were lucky, just popping in without booking, as the seemed quite busy by the time we left. Worth a detour - and booking in advance
Dropped in for a drink after walking the Laurie Lee Way. Small bar, but very cosy. We sat in the large outside seating area as it was rather busy inside. Lovely pub.
We were recommended this pub by friends and it did not disappoint!! The food was all grown locally and seasonally and was the best pub food we’ve ever had- most certainly the best pie ever! The service was amazing also- thank you Henry and his team, we will be back!!
The best staff, good beer. Food expensive but mostly very good. Excellent graffiti in the men's bogs.
Loved everything about this. Fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were so welcoming (despite being busy). A new favourite.
This was a lovely meal in a lovely environment. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The menu was creative and interesting, with much sourced locally. Very welcoming for the baby, too. Highly recommended.
Wow what an incredible little find. We were really glad we’d booked as this place does get busy, and we could see whyZ Friendly staff and a comfortable quirky environment with some lovely views over the valley. Food and drink were exceptional.
