Me & 6 others went here on Sunday for a roast to round off what had already been a great weekend, and so it carried on whilst here. When we walked in the Bar was packed and although there was only one person on you didn't have to wait for a pint, we were then shown to our table. The food was fantastic and very enjoyable and reasonable price too. Was really nice to see the pub busy again and a place you feel you can recommend again. Well Done to Ken & the team will be back.

We stayed here for 1 night, the rooms (cottage) were spacious and comfortable. Everywhere we saw was spotlessly clean. We didn't eat here but now have an excuse to return! Thanks

Despite the bad weather (snow causing desruption across the UK) and the apologies from the landlord for the lack of some draught beers we had a fantastic Sunday roast. My husband loved his ale and we both thought the roast dinners were exceptional. Large portions beautifully presented and very tasty. The roast potatoes were lovely and crispy. Definitely coming back again

Beautiful pub in the countryside. Nice atmosphere for a pint or two on a hot day. Ignore all the fake reviews from the far left, most of them have never stepped foot in the place. Visit it and you won't be disappointed

Had a great night. Lovely room, great staff and locals and we took our guitars and played in the bar. Great fun! Nice and quiet too in the local area and stunning views of the valley at the pub rear garden.

Great pub and ignore the review bombing it's pretty pathetic, cancel culture at its worst. Great choice or drinks and views to die for, Ken is a great host so don't hesitate to pop in for a drink.

I stayed in the Star with my mum doing the Cotswolds way and very stupidly left my headphones in the bed!! Joanna the cleaner was a saint and found them for me and posted them to me!! What an angel!! I thought they were gone forever but she saved me!!! Thank you so much, really appreciate it

Nice rooms, recently decorated but still not perfect. decent little bar, friendly landlord, but it lacks a lot of atmosphere and that something special. Cheap and cheerful, you get what you paid for.

Not a bad little pub, could do with less gin and more beer /cider.. The garden leaves little to be desired. There is a massive crater of a pothole on the way out of the carpark that needs fixing , I'm hoping the landlord buys me a new exhaust 🤞

Peaceful relaxed location, warm friendly staff, dog friendly. Clean cosy room. Excellent restaurant menu. The haddock and chips was lovely and fresh and beetroot with goats cheese starter was delicious. We stayed for one night with our dog and would highly recommend. Thank you to Ken and his crew. We will definitely return in future.

Had Sunday Roast there, which was absolutely fantastic! Especially the roast vegetable tart is amazing! :) The barmen (who might be the owner) and the staff were very friendly and it was a perfect spot mid-hike to eat and rest. Thank you!

My family and I stayed in the Star Inn for one night. It was a very pleasant stay. The room and beds were very clean, tidy and suited all our needs. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was an issue with the bar kitchen and they were not serving food. They were apologetic and helped us find alternative arrangements. When I needed advice on local services and taxis they helped quickly and politely. Overall very good and I would recommend to anyone.

Driven past this place so many times but after a hard morning in the garden I decided to book in for sunday lunch. And what a lunch! I had soup to start, very flavoursome, lovely little mini loaf of bread and some local butter. My husband had the ham hock terrine. The main event didn't disappoint. Tender, sweet vegetables. Full flavoured cauliflower cheese and a beautiful gravy. We were a little too full to have a dessert but thought we really should try one. Hubby opted for the apple mousse and I chose the chocolate fondant. Wow. This place is an absolute gem 💎
