Great tour, quality stuff in the shop and the tasting hall food was delicious. Definitely recommend a visit. Loved the way the way the school history was woven into the experience. Really enjoyed reading the wartime memoirs over lunch, really brought the place alive.
Lovely venue, great food and superb staff. Nothing too much trouble. Would absolutely recommend.
Great story, great people, great tour, great beer. Nothing bad. While a limited food menu (sandwiches) on the day we visited, the food was great!
Good food, great beer. Very good shop for all things Orkney Brewery!
Even if you don't like beer, the Visitor Centre has lots to offer...good food, and great conversion of the old school house with lots of great details to keep the whole family interested...
Of course if you do like beer, the brewery tour is excellent, and the ales on offer are all top notch...with a great range of merchandise available in the shop too...
Took the first tour of the day together with a young lass from Canada,so we had Andy, our Tourguide, for ourselves. It's a really small Brewery, but nonetheless interesting to see and smell how beer is made. Andy is very knowledgeable and made the tour worthwhile. We've finished with three good drams (one pint alltogether!!).I had lunch there as well, which was delicious. Don't miss it when on Orkney.
Beautiful building, super cafe and of course the fabulous beer! Great merchandise too.
Dark Island Reserve 330ml. 10%. Its not cheap. However it is a superb beer. Buy it for treats or celebrations. Dark and luxurious. Drink it with a Sloe Gin chaser..whenever and however you want to celebrate.
Thank you for a great Brewery Tour on our special day. We came back again for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch today, staff were brilliant, thanks for fitting us in at a busy time!
It is beautiful. We had a lovely lunch there on my birthday. Highly recommend a visit.
Fascinating tour with excellent, informative guide. Excellent restaurant with fine attention to detail throughout. Can recommend it as one of Orkney's top visitor attractions.
Brilliant brewery with a great range of beers. Highly recommend the tour and lunch afterwards, their chocolate guinness cake is amazing!
A number of beers were sampled (purely out of duty) as was the steak and Dark Island pie.
The quality of what was offered was good but I don't like a ladle of stew with puff pastry stuck on top. It's not a pie.
Instead of "fries" befitting Mcdonalds proper potato chips are preferable.
Great people and beer! Unfortunately the taps had been kicked but we got to try the puffin lager which was good! Really wanted to try the northern lights. but albeit, great tasty brewery with a beautiful store front!
We had a blast at this micro brewery. Ewan gave us an information packed tour of the facility, followed by a taste of 3 beers on tap. Dark Island was my fav. We ate lunch in their restaurant which is beautiful and the food was delicious. Homemade soup and sandwiches were excellent. Lots of wonderful desserts but we were stuffed. We bought lots of merch - their art is incredible. Highly recommend!
Great to experience the local ale where it's made! Book a Table and have amazing tasty food before you sample a flight of Ales. Well stocked shop so you can take your favourites home lol.
(Delicious Cullen Skink & haddock goujons to name a couple)
incredible place, landscape is great, the building both outside and inside (used to be the village schoolhouse), good food, gorgeous beers, even toilets are beautiful and very clean. Interesting shop. Just GO
Friendly staff, superb food, quality beverages, and strong WiFi. Excellent stop off when touring the West Mainland of Orkney - highly recommend
Amazing place n Skull Splitter is lovely, reminds me of home brew from years ago , staff were all great n helpful , went back 3 times while on Orkney 😂😂 tried the Orkney gold n chocolate one too , great taste n pleased you do Mail Order 👍👍
We arrived as tour group was leaving. Sign said they were full but staff accommodated us without reservation. Great looking spot. After Skara Brae, best spot to stop by. Food is delicious and they have most beers on cask.
Despite some reviews saying otherwise, we found the service here absolutely fine. We stopped in passing, bought coffee, used the WiFi to make a couple of onward bookings, and bought some beer that we don't normally see at home.
Quite Nice. Lovely Soup and Tasty Beers.
Popped in hoping to have a hot drink and we stayed quite a while! Lovely, helpful staff, and a great café too. Plenty of beer - understandably! - as well as a gift shop, and extra information about the islands, and the venue before conversion.
This isn't (yet) on the tour runs, so you won't get mobbed. Definitely worth a visit.
Pleasant stop and friendly staff. Beer was good and food selection decent. Gift shop a bit overpriced as I bought a T-Shirt and didn’t realize it was 25lbs….over $30..only option in the area really so a pleasant surprise.

Attentive and friendly staff serving fantastic food in a relaxed atmosphere. Suitable for all the family. 5*
Very well done tasting room, they kept the feel of the original schoolhouse.
The beer is grand! The Skull Splitter was wonderful, a bit heavy though if you are driving!
