We don't expect frills, it's a pub. But it's clean, friendly, and happy with dogs. We visit Ely regularly and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Stayed here for 2 nights for work, the staff were all welcome and friendly, as there isn't much in the village we also ate / drank in the pub after work, the food was good quality especially the lasagne. The rooms were dated and could have done with a touch of paint and a bit more cleaning, the en suite was clean and the shower worked well. Would stay there again

Lovely place and great staff. Good food and portions. The four star rating is because breakfast is not available, although the room info book says it is.

Easy parking, excellent street food at the visiting Friday food van, this week Japanese, and music. Clearly popular with the locals.

We came across this pub whilst house hunting on Saturday 3rd September. We stopped for lunch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had the sausage and chips in a basket. The food was very hot and very nice. It was a huge portion of chips which I couldn't finish. Would definitely recommend, really nice pub.

Super pub with Allan, Robin and Harps who was great and looked after us very well at breakfast. We did have a bar snack of scampi and chips and they were delicious and hot. The rooms were great, comfortable and just right for our game at Ely Golf Club the following morning. Would definitely come back. Well done guys.

Great pub, good atmosphere, busy with locals and visitors alike. Nice to see people enjoying their evening while their dogs were sleeping under the tables. Stayed a couple of nights, good breakfasts, free parking and WiFi. Only left off one star as the room was a bit shabby, but very clean. Would come again, but in a different room.

Wedding weekend at the Red Lion Inn I would like to publicly thank the red lion team, consisting of Harpal, Tracey,Lynne, carol, Alan and Steve for a wonderful weekend. We stayed as a family 0f 12 for 4 nights at the Red Lion whilst attending a wedding at Willow Grange farm. We cannot fault the hospitality, being accommodating to our changing needs during this time. The food was beautiful cooked, plentiful and our needs were cheerfully attended to, even opening the kitchen after a busy fathers day lunch. Rooms were clean, showers excellent, nice comfy beds and fresh towels. the village is very beautiful a with quaint English country friendliness. Thank you for the laughs, ,memories and attention during out stay.

Great atmosphere and very friendly Staff. We booked in for one night and were greeted by a very enthusiastic Jack who showed to our room. As expected the room was warm and very comfortable. Other than being in need of a bit of upgrading and the TV remote not compatible with the TV so had to use the buttons on the TV. The evening meal was exceptionally good and great value. Would we stay again if in the area "Yes"

We had dinner at the Red Lion, and it was so nice we went back for lunch the next day! It's good pub grub, the chips were delicious (always a good sign!) and it was good hearty tasty food at very reasonable prices. The service was good and there is a great selection of gins. Lunch was a Sunday roast dinner and it was simply delicious, would thoroughly recommend going here. The decor isn't as slick as it could be, but don't let this put you off as the food and service are great. Very lucky to have such a good pub as the local.

Good beer. Friendly staff. Patrons sociable. Good place to spend some time. Hearsay: people who have meals here told us it was good food.

We have had two meals in here in the last few months and on both occasions the food has been excellent. Very tasty, fair price and you can tell the food was made with care by proper chefs. The staff are awesome, super friendly, welcoming and nothing was a problem. We were even able to take our dog into the bar whilst we ate. Highly recommend and we have to mention Alan the barman who was super friendly, welcoming and hilarious. We will be back.

Had an excellent lunch. Took a party of 18 people everyone order separately but all the meals came at the same time freshly cooked hot and well presented. Definitely will go again . we were all seated together in the conservatory very nice.
