Strolling around the food court we noticed Wokooshii, a Korean/Japanese place that wasn't there the last time we ventured into this shopping paradise. The food that some of the customers were eating looked very interesting so we headed inside to try something new. We agreed to share three starters between us so we could try a variety of dishes and then share our mains too. If only the nations of the world could achieve this level of diplomacy! Cucumber and Japanese Radish Maki : A fairly basic Sushi dish but was well presented with soy to dip in and ginger to cleanse the palate. A
Food is great here but when we first visited the service was terrible. However they have brightened up their service this time. It was rapid. Almost as soon as we ordered, our food was on its way. Not cheap but not too expensive either
Went with work and ordered from the £13.95 lunch menu. The starter was nice and the main was fantastic, really big portions too.
Surprisingly good food to say it has had such mixed reviews.
Ordered the taster menu for two and couldn't pick a fault with a single course. Food was hot (where appropriate) and well seasoned. I particularly enjoyed the seared tuna salad with mango.
Would recommend to family and friends and I will definitely be back in the future.
What an amazing place .. My partner took me as a suprise for my birthday weekend treat and i couldn't have been happier.
We received a polite and friendly welcome from the staff and they were very helpful advising on what was the best food to pick.
We had three courses and all were very tasty looked amazing.
This was my first experience of this kind of food and it was brilliant.
I went there on the 30th of November at around 6pm with 4 friends and the service was amazing! The waiters were very kind to us and let us pick our own table, and also the food came extremely quick with little waiting time! It's a friendly and nice atmosphere. Would visit again and recommend to a friend. Thank you for the nice food! 😄😋
Absolutely love this place!!! Every time I go to Trafford centre I treat myself at Wokooshii and they never disappoint. Lovely and friendly staff. I’ve tried most of the dishes on the menu and they all taste delicious. My personal favourite is the Bibimbap, a lovely Korean dish. I would highly recommend
Amazing food and service. My boyfriend and I had the taster set from the Korean menu and it was absolutely delicious. The pacing between each course was perfect allowing our appetite to rest before the next set. My boyfriend is a very picky eater and he had a great time trying different dishes (many of which were completely new to him). I highly recommend the salty edamame starter, king prawn tempura and mandu! Absolutely well worth the money and time 10/10. Looking forward to our next visit.
Decided to try as kids wanted sushi.
Got the taster menu for two, between me and the kids. All ous enjoyed it, a good selection of dishes to try and finished off with chicken teppenyaki as are choice of mains. Staff and service very good.
Not too badly priced for what we got compared to other similar restaurants around Manchester. Would come back again.
Eat here every time we go shopping at Trafford. Both my wife and I are vegetarian and the options are well varied and delicious. The staff are fantastic and service is quick without feeling rushed. Cannot recommend highly enough.
I visited for the first time today. We had to wait for a table for about 10-15 minutes (a sign of how popular it is). I ordered the vegetable tempura, sushi, chicken yakitori, a portion of kimchi and a pot of green tea. It was very tasty, authentic Japanese food. I particularly enjoyed the kimchi. I will definitely be returning in the future to try the other dishes on the menu!
Absolutely wonderful restaurant in a relatively pretty area of Trafford Centre. My group ordered their taster menu which had 11 courses and each one was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Japanese and/or Korean food.
Sam's review:
Tl;dr: Superb staff, large portions of enjoyable halal food but a weighty price tag.
Arrival:
We visited with a party of 2 at 7:45PM on a Friday. Having just dined in Yang Sing next door, we already were seated. The response was prompt and our plates and cutlery were restocked quickly. The waiter was very friendly and made me smile.
Service:
Although Wokooshii and Yang Sing share staff in some occasions, I felt the service from the Wokooshii staff was more friendly. Some laughs with our waitresses were shared and made the experience better.
Food:
I opted for our party of 2 to share a bulgogi bibimbap (beef mixed rice bowl). It was indeed large, which was expected at the £14.20 we paid. Having had a lot of bibimbap across the UK and in South Korea, I felt this price was rather steep. That being said, I understand the price increase from all ingredients being halal which was a big selling point for us. The bibimbap was sadly a little bland for us, though this is often an issue with bibimbap. That being said, it was still enjoyable.
Final thoughts:
We both enjoyed our experience at Wokooshii and look forward to trying other dishes there. The portions seem sizeable, but at a hefty cost.
