We have got back from a lovely family meal this evening. Good service, good food and value for money. The mixed grills and steaks were lovely, tender and well cooked. The kids meals were also good value, ours ate from the big kids menu and all the food were decent portions. All the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Our experience this evening will mean we will return again. Thank you!
We came in on Saturday lunchtime and were very impressed with the service we received - we had some issues with parking payment but the assistant manager (lady) couldn't have been more helpful. Our waitress was also very friendly & helpful and went out of her way to ensure we had a nice meal. The food was good pub grub. Would happily go back again
Nice atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, food excellent, couldn't fault it would defiantly return & recommend to family & friends
We needed to find a place to get some quality food after having been to woodies hole ..bit of a trek, but it's totally worth it.
Yummy starters, beautifully presented and so moreish
The mains were filling, full of flavour. Needed more gravy and hard to get staff once they went, but it was still great.
The cocktails were made with love. All at great prices. Would definitely visit again.
Had a lovely midweek meal out. All of our meal was beautifully made and wonderfully fresh. I really loved that there were traditional pub options with options for things a little more unusual. I ended up with a kabab, which was amazing. My partner had hunters chicken, which he enjoyed.
All the staff were really friendly, and welcoming. And the cocktails were delicious too.
We will be going again!
We met with family to share a meal. The service was perfect! The staff were friendly and helpful and we couldn’t have asked for more. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was just perfect. Special thanks to Laura who looked after us particularly well. We’ll be back! 😁🙏
We can't thank the staff enough for being really accommodating and friendly to us. We have a dog who is reactive to other dogs and they did their best to sit us away from other people which meant we could enjoy our food in peace which is a rarity! The food was super yummy, a brilliant start to our holiday
Stayed at the Bear Inn for 3 nights and had a great experience.
The location and accommodation was fantastic, just where we wanted to be in Somerset.
The pub itself is big with plenty of seating. Food, including breakfast, was good and run well, especially by Hayley, who was excellent.
Definitely worth a visit.
Good restaurant and very cozy place. Nice people and confortable sofas. Burger was good but salad had avocado not in very good condition. The rest of the salad was good but this avocado made it without a main ingredient as we didn't eat it.
Stayed here twice for work stopover. Staff, food and accomodation are all exceptional real value for money. Everyone is very welcoming with service to match. Laura in particular provides exceptional service nothing is to much trouble always a smile on her face 👏. Would recommend.
Very smart and friendly inn with very good service and food will be recommending to friends.
My only criticism is the small number of blue badge parking and having to send some one round the front to open the fire exit for disabled to enter straight into seating area.
Visited at lunch time on a weekday. Had not reserved a table, but was seated quickly and as always, staff were very attentive. Our order was taken and our food was served within 20 minutes. Delicious as usual.
Very reasonably priced menus, with discount vouchers often available. It is worth signing up to receive their emails.
Free WiFi is available at the hotel and the cost of parking in their carpark to the rear is refundable when a purchase is made.
Highly recommend.
Turned up on a Sunday whilst on holiday in the area, hadn’t booked a table but they managed to fit us in. Has the most amazing roast with all the trimmings and was served by a lovely girl called Lauren who was extremely helpful and very friendly and seemed to be running around making sure all the customers were happy. She deserves a huge Pat on the back!
Attracted by the extensive vegetarian options which did not disappoint. The veggie pie and mash was outstandingly good. Superb, friendly and efficient waiting staff. Excellent food allergy protocols. A very welcome escape from the Wessex hotel. Thank you.
Serve was brilliant - staff were friendly, and accommodating to our needs.
2 of 3 people were gluten intolerant and the staff dealt with it greatly! We were all impressed with the food, the portions and the serve.
We will definitely be coming back.
We recently stayed at the Bear Inn during a cold snap in December and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the free off-road parking was a huge plus. The inn is conveniently located near the outlet shopping village, which we'd come to see.
The food options at the restaurant were great and as vegetarians we were interested to see what the menu was like. There were many choices which was great and we went with the vegetarian Sunday Roast which was delicious. However, the side dish that came with our roast dinner was much hotter than the roast itself, which made for an interesting temperature contrast! The bar next to the Inn's resturant was really cozy and warm despite the cold outside.
The room we had (above the bar) was a good size with a large double bed. We also appreciated the fact that there were USB sockets on all the bedroom power sockets, which made it easy to charge our devices. On the downside, the radiator in our room was a bit underpowered and didn't quite keep the room as warm as we would have liked. The bedding was good enough to keep us warm throughout the night however.
Any areas for improvement? Well we found the instant coffee at breakfast was a bit disappointing - having fresh coffee would be so much better. We also noticed a few cobwebs in the room.
Overall though, we had a great stay and would definitely go back to the Bear Inn and stay there again. Great value for money.
Couldn’t ask for better place to enjoy some sun watch the world go by and have lunch and drink at the same time (if you have kids the play park out the back is great for them.) the new garden furniture is a much needed upgrade very well done team bear great stuff amazing team so friendly and welcoming it’s good to see the bear inn back in full swing, the menu is full and with so much to choice your spoilt for choice, great way to end any day at the swing pool will defo be again.
Good food, friendly service. The only let-down on this occasion was the slowness in serving the food - it was over a 30 minute wait with no verbal indication that there was a backlog of orders due to how busy it was. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
Accommodation excellent, rooms clean and very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful always up for a laugh. Eggs were inconsistent on quality otherwise food was amazing. Environment is very relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay definitely recommend and will be going back
We stayed here as a journey break to and from Cornwall. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and offer brilliant customer service. We had a roast on Sunday which was top notch and very very reasonably priced. Breakfast was amazing. The rooms are so clean and the bathroom absolutely spotless so big thumbs up to the cleaners.
This was our 2nd visit and we will certainly be back.
Love this place, I come with my elderly parents and know they come without me also and always looked after by the fantastic Hailey and Diane. Lovely food too and atmosphere is relaxed 😎
