Visited off the cuff at lunchtime on a Friday, very pleasant staff greeted us and found us a table in the restaurant, although there were plenty of empty tables in the bar section.
The staff were very attentive and the food was perfect, having said that, my wife did mention that although she had the Beef Stew and dumplings, the stew didn’t have any vegetables, funny as how can you make a stew without vegetables, anyway, she did also say the Beef and Gravy was delicious. I endulged in the Chicken Breast with BBQ Sauce, Bacon and Cheese this came with Chips (my choice) and peas, the chicken was very moist, the peas were excellent and the chips cooked to my liking.
All in this was a very enjoyable visit, the menu is varied and the staff excellent, highly recommend if you living in or just visiting Stratford-upon-Avon

Everything perfect staff absolutely spot on can’t do enough for you and friendly food and drinks perfect and a nice atmosphere well worth a visit you will not be disappointed 😁😁
Had a lovely meal with husband. It was lunch time and the place was full the garden as well. We had a Thai salad each and it was lovely. The staff are friendly and the place is old but clean. Good for family's as you can watch the boats going into Stratford on Avon.
Couldn’t fault food or service. Our server Luke was very attentive. Would recommend eating here.
Walked round the corner from Pen & Parchment pub where bar staff were off hand and Diet Coke was undrinkable. Cheap make not Coca Cola. Red Lion was totally different staff friendly and helpful. Sat outside in the glorious sunshine and had lunch. We both had chicken & bacon mayo sarnie with chips. It was lovely. Also a nice large cold Pinot to take away the taste of other pubs disgusting Coke.

Me and my wife visited Stratford for the weekend we called in for a pint and smelled the food so decided to try it out what a great idea it was because the food was fantastic great atmosphere we left 3hrs later a bit drunk so I would highly recommend it if you visit Stratford
Returned to Stratford after a few years and this place came to mind immediately for great food and very happy helpful staff.
Hubby and I had burgers and a steak with nachos starter. After being told an hour wait, food came in 20 mins.....would have happily waited the hour for what came out. Beautiful steak, just how I like it. Well done guys!!!

Booked a family meal for 6 people.Asked if they could do an omelette as I am a fussy eater.No problem with that.Our meals arrived, food fantastic. Staff very helpful and polite would recommend

We just had a quick bite here. The location is great: they have a large garden by the river which is perfect for spring and summer. They have a great variety of dishes. The salad and chips we ordered were tasty, the only thing the cheese chunks were huge and hard to manage.
Decent sized beer garden. We had chicken wings, potato dippers and chicken goujons which were all pretty good.
We enjoyed our lovely weekend at this place!!! Delicious food and nice staff too!
Great value serving decent pub classics. As a party of eight the service was excellent with drinks and meals arriving quickly. Great location in centre of Stratford and handy if staying at the Premier Inn across the road.

Came here (Stratford..) for my birthday and we took a while walking around the town deciding where to eat and I am so glad I went with my first choice as the service at Red Lion was fantastic. Meals were delicious and both me and partner came away feeling very satisfied and thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. Absolutely top notch service from both Mark and Remy.They were very accommodating to our needs and would definitely come back here again! Thank you x

Booking a table is essential and can be done the night before. They have 2, 4, 6 or more seats if required. Table service was excellent staff friendly and helpful if you have any allergies or preferences to specific foods you can't eat. Very wide choice of food and drink on the menu. It's ideally situated by the river Avon and next to Shakespeare Theatre with a hotel opposite. Dining area is peaceful and pleasant. I can't rate this place any higher me and my partner are definitely coming back
We visited here without booking and had a very short wait for a table. The food we had here was really good pub grub. Staff were friendly but seemed short staffed as there only seemed to be one guy running around doing everything. We would happily visit here again

Shown straight to our table, and drinks and food orders were taken very quickly. Disappointed that the Sunday roast was sold out.
Food and drink arrived quickly, but the fish and garlic bread (not together) were both in need of extra cooking.....
Absolutely delicious meal in the sunshine, quick and friendly service, food was cooked to perfection and so tasty, salad was fresh. Only downside was there was no toilet paper in the women's toilets so I left without using them and being 7 months pregnant that was quite disappointing!
This is the second time we have been to Stratford upon Avon and this pub is fantastic staff are always very friendly and courteous nothing is too much and the food wow don't know why people complain about this place if I lived hear I would be eating hear every week
Good food but had to wait approx 30 mins from order to food arriving. Place not even half full. Waiter did apologise.
Just had some dinner after a full afternoon in Stratford upon Avon. All perfectly fine & well priced. Lovely outside area albeit right on the main road.
We have stayed in stratford-upon-avon a couple of times, and we ate here every night because they have excellent vegetarian options. The staff are friendly, professional, and accommodate your every need. Thank you, and we will see you again. Harry jackson
