So ..me and my wife went to salt today to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and it was definitely a fitting way to do so ..the service was a perfect balance between being attentive and relaxed and it was so refreshing to see staff who are as passionate about food as what paul and his staff are.
We knew we were in for a treat of a meal as soon as the fresh bread and butter made it's way onto the table �
I had the mackerel and tomato dish and it was beautiful..my wife's pregnant and fancied the venison tartare but paul offered her an alternative version with belly pork which she loved!
Anyway I won't go on to much but what I will say is, get urself to salt and give it a go..you won't regret it!

A very rare treat!!! A restaurant in Stratford upon Avon that is fine dining in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Chef Paul Foster and team are serving beautiful food in a modern style that showcases the best of British produce. We could not find fault with any dish presented and the staff are attentive and friendly. Stratford you now have a restaurant that will put you on the culinary map.
Four of us dined on Saturday evening, it was our first visit to Salt. Having heard lots about it we were all eagerly anticipating the tasting menu which all four of us opted for. We weren't disappointed - the food is simply first class. The open kitchen is unique and stylish, and the manner in which the staff and head chef describe the food enhances the experience.
We opted for the wine pairing with the 6 courses which i'd highly recommend.

A superb relaxed place to eat ingredient led produce. The veggie spring menu was superb. Lovely relaxed service and excellent prices for food this accomplished. A fantastic experience.
Stunning. The lunch tasting menu was beautiful - the lamb was the best lamb I've ever eaten. The staff were lovely and friendly and certainly very knowledgable.
I couldn't fault a thing.
Well worth every penny - will definitely be back.

Salt is one of the best restaurants in which I have ever had the pleasure of dining. Having moved to the area in the summer (and not long after the restaurant opened), my husband and I were delighted to stumble upon such a fantastic gem of a place. The food is incredible; simple, yet refined and without that slightly annoying air of pretention that can sometimes accompany such haute cuisine. The decor and ambience are both relaxed and subtle and lend themselves perfectly to the feel of the place. The staff are all welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. With a menu that changes regularly, a well thought out wine list to suit all budgets and special, inventive drinks and cocktails that fit the season, it is no wonder we have already visited six times! I wholeheartedly recommend this fabulous restaurant which justifies the praise and awards it receives in the local and national press. Keep up the good work! Hopefully there will still be a table next time we would like to book...

First visit to Salt recommended by friends who go regularly. Loved the staff and service, atmosphere and, most importantly, the food. We had the excellent and interesting tasting menu - my favourite parts were the tomato, carrot and onion dishes! Staff were also very knowledgeable on the wines and the pairings were very well matched and enjoyable. Will definitely be returning on our next visit to Stratford 😊

I booked this as a salt anniversary gift for my husband and we had such a lovely time. The staff really went out of their way to make the occasion feel special and they were incredibly attentive throughout the experience. The tasting menu and drinks paring were delightful. A well thought out combination of courses and flavors.
We came out with nothing but praise for both the food and the staff. The talk through about each of the wines was interesting and informative.
The restaurant felt really special but with none of the pretentiousness that you can find in some fine dining restaurants.

Take my money! really enjoyable 6 course lunch menu. Wife had the wine pairing option, I tasted each as I was driving, paired perfectly with the set menu, informative brief given on each wine. Service was exceptional, attentive, great synergy and timing throughout, 4 separate staff served us in total. All courses were delicious, our favourites was the Irish beef, tart starter, smoked potato dish and the pickled carrot dish, exquisite presentation for all dishes. Sat for 2.5 hrs, which was perfect, went by in a blink of eye, never felt like we were waiting for anything. We thought it was very good value for money, highly recommend, definitely returning.
Wow, what an amazing experience we had on Friday evening, fabulous food created by the talented Paul Foster, paired with Amazing wines presented by Jay Jay. There was most certainly nothing “generic” about our evening. Every morsel of food was delicious, the wine matched perfectly and the atmosphere was totally relaxed and insightful. I went there for a surprise lunch for my friend birthday. We were stuck in traffic and the staff was kind to hold the table for us. The food was perfection. We loved everything from the appetisers to the desert. The goat milk ice creams was so good and the bread was just out of this world.
Definitely recommended, the vibe and the service really worth every single penny.

The 8 course taster menú was spectacular. We both loved each course - even ones that Initially sounded like I might not be quite so keen. You want to try each element of the fish separately (and you should do so as well) but combining a bit of each element was the best to appreciate the balance of the flavours. The chef was on point.
The wines were good and reasonably priced.

First time we've ever had a Michelin starred meal and what a wonderful treat it was! Pricey, of course, but we could appreciate the skill, artistry and delectable flavours of each and every mouthful. Absolutely fantastic experience. The food, wine and service was exceptional! The work put in by the chefs to produce the flavours is evident, as is the quality of the ingredients. Very relaxed atmosphere. The staff are great, really chatty and knowledgeable and their attention to detail was great to observe. For a special occasion, I would wholeheartedly recommend.
Just been for a Christmas treat and it was sensational. 8 course tasting menu seemed expensive but actually is great value. Absolutely delicious, start to finish, the lamb sweetbreads was possibly one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. The lamb and venison courses were perfectly cooked and balanced Highly recommend.
Wonderful relaxed atmosphere from the moment you enter the restaurant. The knowledge from the staff members made the experience so great and they continued this throughout the service.

Oh my word, the food is incredible! Came here for my birthday lunch and we were so impressed! We had a two course lunch menu, the service was friendly and welcoming. They brought out olives and roasted almonds which were really fresh and tasty. Followed by freshly baked bread with Oxfordshire butter, which was probably the best bread I have ever tasted in my life! For starters we had tomatoes mussels and samphire, which was really refreshing, with the mixture of flavours and textures which went really well together. For mains, I had cod which was beautifully cooked and we'll flavoured, and my husband had pigeon, which was absolutely out of this world. The dishes were well presented, and the two courses filled us up so we didn't have room to fit in a dessert. The waiter gave us a complementary choux pastry with cream inside and that was delightful. With the quality of food I think it's good value. I would highly recommend this place.
We booked the Chefs table and what a fabulous experience it was. Chef accommodated a couple of allergies without fuss and gave us a fantastic food experience. We also had the wine flight and the young Sommelier certainly knew his stuff. Superb !!;

A must visit if in Stratford-upon-avon. Fantastic relaxed fine dining experience. Highlight had to be the Saddle of lamb, bhuna onions, green herb ketchup which all the flavours married very well together.the lovely surprise choux bun with banana curd - the banana curd was just divine.
We had 8 course tasting menu, an interesting selection all beautifully cooked and presented. We were sat in the front room, the ambience in the back room is better, ask to be seated there. This was a special treat for me, a Christmas present from my son, it was lovely.
Another excellent dinner at Salt. Living in Stratford, we are so lucky to have many good restaurants and Salt is right up there as one of the best. Not only is the menu imaginative, with the best of local produce but the service from the knowledgable staff is superb. A very good (and well priced) wine list tops off a great dining out experience. Make sure you book a table!
