The go to place to have the best Thai food and filing platters in a nice ambience and atmosphere at the best quality and prices and prompt and punctual service as well.
Food is quite average and they don’t have a lot of options on the menu. Communal seating also makes it hard to have a conversation with your group.
Awesome vegetarian options with the right amount of spice, very popular place by the looks and sounds, energetic service crew, very tasty food, central location and very close to the Stratford stations with great connectivity across London make this outlet a must visit if you’re vegetarian. The pricing is reasonable given all the reasons mentioned. Loved it so much didn’t even occur to take pics. Thank you Daniel for the sterling service 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
What a feel this place has, as soon you enter you are overwhelmed with the fragrances you so associate with one of the world's most popular cuisine. We were seated on a shared table and ordered a vegetarian pad Thai and a beef basil stir fried on sticky rice bowl. Both dishes were spot on, the rice bowl was one wholesome lunch bowl with a soft yolk egg on top. Jasmine tea to wash it down and heaven.
Great authentic Thai food, if your a thai lover then you will love this place. Each dish proportionately made with great flavours to really satisfy your tastebuds. Theres a variety of choices also for vegans and vegetarians so theres something to please everyone. The ambience was calming and the big square tables are designed to fit more than one group in each table so be ready to share tables with other guests. Their service was fast and staff were friendly. Lovely meal
Thai is my all time fav cuisine , so I’m usually picky , but I loved the food here and the ambience. Been here only once but definitely going back to try other dishes. Tried the Thai green curry & sticky rice , pad Thai and Thai Calamari
Looking for a cheap yet tasty Thai restaurant? Then keep reading. This review is about my go to visit at the Busaba Eathai restaurant. Hey guys! So I visited the Stratford, Westfield branch and I’m glad to say that the service there was more than outstanding and the staff could not have been any more accommodating. Upon arrival, I was greeted and immediately seated which was a great start. After that, I was assigned to an attentive waiter who immediately took my order and promptly brought out my food.
Delicious Thai food, the ambience is cosy and welcoming with very Thai inspired homely atmosphere. We had ordered for jasmine rice, Fish fillets, Thai noodles etc. Good customer service skills demonstrated by the staff
Thai Food is soul food... Period.
Busaba eathai lives up to every bit of what you love about Thai food.
Food: Love their Curries, prawn starters and Breads. Their soups are just out of the world as well. Been here about half a dozen times and its just super consistent. 5/5
Service: People are friendly for most part, could do better at times, but its a packed restaurant, so not sure they can do much. 4/5
Price: Aptly priced for the real estate . 4/5
Location: End of the mall closer to the parking 5/5
Ambiance: love the warm feeling you get from the place 4/5
My bro actually recommended this place to me saying it's quite legit eventhough it's a franchise, but I have to say I had a little disappointment as everything was fine except that they might have forgotten to add salt or seasonings in my pad Thai? It tasted very bland, but the noodle texture and everything else was fine.
When I lived and worked in Stratford a few years ago, Busaba was our go to place for after work drinks and a bite to eat. Fast forward three years and I found myself again at this busy location in Westfield Stratford, being 9pm on a Thursday the wait for a table was evident but the business does not excuse the slow and frankly sloppy service! The manger seemed to be the only person on the ball and a number of tables left, due to the lack of service.
The restaurant is a dark space with bright golden lanterns and a distinct wooden barn-like feel. Never having been a fan of communal 'wagamama' style seating, the reason we come to Busaba in the food - which never fails to disappoint.
From the lemon grass noodle soup with its delightful coconut broth and smoky chargrilled chicken, to our favourite dish of calamari. The food in undeniably good. Washed down with a Singha beer (which are cheaper than the juices), dining at Busaba allowed us to reminisce on our times travelling in Thailand.
The restaurant could be exceptional of they up their game and train staff to be more attentive!
I know it seems obvious but I need to break the ice and compare this place with wagamama, although the service was great and food was average, the feeling and menu was similar to wagamama, however the food was not as great, however the service and ambience made the experience better
Have been here twice in the recent past. After having eaten at their covent garden restaurant, there was no way i could miss out this place. Was here for lunch both the times while shopping with my wife. The same quick service & great tasting food each time! A must try for those who have not tried this place before. Am coming back for sure on my next visit to the westfield..
It’s Saturday and I am back at Westfield in Stratford. Shopping is a chore mostly, but the benefit of this spot is everything you need is one place, so you can get it out of the way in one sesh. Clothes, accessories, toiletries, etc.
As shopping is hungry work, you have to have your break and grab some food. I have dined here previously, twice, at Bumpkin Brasserie. It delivered a great brunch and a fantastic lunch. As much as we were tempted to stick to the safe bet, we went for something new. Busaba Eathai, on the terrace outside was a great spot, especially as temperatures were reaching 28 degrees and we could sit outside.
I am a fan of Thai food, having visited Bangkok and Ko Samui previously. I have tasted some great street food and authentic cuisine. That by no means makes me an expert, I just have a sense of what I like.
Busaba Eathai, although part of of a chain, delivered. The food was so fresh, so tasty and spicy how I liked it. Let’s start with the selection of starters. We opted for chicken satay. Wow, succulent pieces of chicken. So moist, so flavoursome served with a not too intense peanut dipping sauce. Thai calamari, with ginger and green peppercorn – the one grey area in our dining experience, with it being quite tough in texture. Not sure if it is supposed to be served this way, but it was okay. The vegetable spring rolls were lush. So delicate.
Moving on to main courses. We went for Chilli Prawn fried rice with shitake mushroom and lime. Also Chilli Prawn with sweet basil, chilli and sugar snap peas. Both had a kick to them, but I am okay with spicyness. For two people, we had ordered enough – anything more would have been a waste.
The service was good, the food arrived quickly, so we were well oiled and ready for the next part of our shopping extravaganza. Will definitely go again.
We got 20% off our meal because a friend of mine was running a marathon at the Olympic Park. It's nice to see that a chain restaurant participated in a local community event. Because of this special offer there were a lot of people dining at the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon.
I'm assuming they didn't anticipate being so busy and then of course we're short staffed leading to inadequate service. Regardless, I ordered my food and really enjoyed my meal!
I had the yellow prawn curry. Just to note this is actually a dry curry with no sauce. I therefore asked to have some of the green curry sauce on the side to mix into my dish and eat with sticky rice. This was the best idea ever! My curry was amazing being half yellow and half green! I would 100% recommend trying it this way!
I also tried the small plate set which includes veggie spring rolls, chili king prawns, fish cakes, and chicken satay. These items seemed to be just basic starters common in a lot of restaurants... Nothing special.
I also tried the guava collins - a drink with guava, lime, and coconut. It was very refreshing! And definitely worth a try :)
Great Thai food conveniently situated in Westfield.
Many dishes to pick from to accommodate your palette. Reasonably priced. Gets a bit overcrowded some times, whereas the seating arrangements do not leave you much with 'personal space' but otherwise very pleasant.
Ordered the chilli prawn stir fry as I usual order the same from wagamama, I loved the busaba one too was less Spicy but still a good kick and massive flavour, the jasmine rice was lovely and soft and a joy to have against the stir fry, the spring roles were standard tasting but not disappointing, a nice change from WAGAMAMA and also a move exciting an exotic authentic Thai menu and eating experience
Will have to go back to try the full experience....after failing to get in during the January 50% off deal, went in to sample some calamari which was supposed to be amazing. It was pretty good, expectations may have been a little high. Service was good but expected with a 10% auto surcharge and the app payment function with loyalty scheme is a way of the future I imagine....will go back at some stage....
Now don’t judge me if I say I like this Asian fusion chain, but hey I’ve been a few times at different branches and it consistency pleased me with the taste. Another successful business by Alan Yau, with his Midas touch the very first Busaba Eathai opened in 1999 on Wardour Street.
Food is cheap and comes piping hot, I tend to favour the wok-fried noodles and ordered a Sen Chan Pad Thai along with some ice tea and my beloved Thai Calamari.
It’s nice to see green mangoes making an appearance on the menu, as it is loved in Thailand and I hardly see it on the menu even at Thai restaurants. I love the taste of them, packed with a sweet sourness.
One thing I must stress is to have the Thai Calamari, ever since I had it at Taste of London food festival I’ve been hooked. It’s not any old deep-fried battered calamari; it’s full-blown flavoured with ginger and peppercorn. Every bite lingers inside your mouth and is so unforgettable.
My Sen Chan Pad Thai came piping hot with steam coming out from the dish, the rice stick noodles had tons of sweet sticky flavour, pieces of prawns, bean spouts, loaded with green mangoes and a dollop size of shredded cold crab meat.
Tasty food but less choices of vegetarian food. Few years back they had more choices in vegetarian dishes but now they are adding oyster sauce in most of their curries. But if you ask chef they will specially make your dish without ouster sauce.
This was my second time there the waitress even remembered me I must have left a goid impression last time.
Drinks had mojito was a bit sour, main I had a thai green curry with fried rice everything was perfect from the chicken in the curry to the rice you could feel all the flavours. My other half had jungle chicken with rice on side it was delicious.
Service is really good if it wasn't for the sour mojito this place would have had a 5star rating verdict its definitely a place to check out really worth it
I cannot stress enough how much I love your calamari! Flavoured with ginger and peppercorn among other spices, it is the best calamari I have ever had! I have actually had nothing like it before, or till now. It's going to be almost two years since I first tried it and there are times I have gone back just for that!
The food on their menu has got just the right amount of flavour and spice to get you going. My husband's favourite is the chilli prawn rice, and trust me, he is a fussy eater when it comes to sea food, so becoming his favourite is a big deal!I must say, during crowded days, almost all branches seat you with other people. It gets to extremely private people (like me), but maybe that is their essence of community dining!Must visit - yes. Must try - the calamari ofcourse!
went on a Sunday evening, I came to have my usual Tilapia Curry, but it seems it was not on the menu, so I ordered the cod fillet, It was just above average, i didn't order rice as i wasn't that hungry, the decor and and atmosphere is nice. For drinks i ordered some ginger chill drink, yeah, not great. But this was my first time at the Stratford branch, i'll try again another day
Taste card 50% food, meant good value
Service - 3
Food - 3
Atmosphere - 3.5
Value - 4
Now here's a little gem, apparently known to all but me. Kind of like Waga's but with Thai food, and so much better, I'm left wondering why I haven't checked it out before.
Good food, dodgy square tables (really, what are they thinking?) and a decent bill of £16.50 per head including drinks makes Busaba interesting enough to have found its way into my list of staple places to go to when you can't be bothered to find anywhere new to check out.
A tiring day of shopping and then a heavenly dinner - priceless! Busaba Eathai at Westfield Stratford would surely invigorate your tired body; hopefully not enough to plunge you back into the shopping arena!
You can feel the calming effect of its pleasant ambience the moment you enter this place. I found the seating plan quite interesting as they had big tables which can seat around 9-10 people on a single table; therefore dinning in a large group can be lot more fun.
Drinks menu have many traditional drinks like "cha" and "muddled". I tried coconut water with lychee juice which I found to be very refreshing. The menu many not be that exhaustive as the restaurant is meant to be a fast food outlet (and hence the seats without backrest). The service was appropriately fast and courteous. However, be warned that the portions may not be filling, so do order both starter and the mains to satiate you should you feel particularly starved. There isn't a dessert option unfortunately, so we ordered the ginger and honey tea and we weren't disappointed, I can positively recommend it.
I would rate Busaba Eathai among my top Thai choices and luckily this is the only one in the chain which accepts taste card. Surely this bonanza wont last long, so make hay while the sun shines!
Nice place to eat. They make you share the table with other guests, which is different. I'm used to having my table with familiar faces so I don't know how I feel about this but I guess it's a great way to interact with people and make new friends if they're up for it.
Their food was nice for some part. I absolutely adored my lamb shank, but then we ordered chicken wings to share, which came out looking like burnt offering. It tasted good still, I must say, but its charred look didn't make it appealing. I think the chef must have got carried away. My son's crispy duck noodles portion was so small. Looked like a starter. The dishes were tasty but just those little buts here and there. They didn't serve cocktails, which was a shame. Toilet was nice and clean and they even had music speakers in there.
Lucky for them, I'll come back for lamb shank again.
Although I’ve been to a few brunches and food has always been decent, it was good to see new things on the menu like the seabass, also now been told a few items are halal too! Firstly this is my favorite place to have calamari because unlike most places it’s cooked with different flavors and is a must! The chicken wings were not the best but personally I found them dry but the l rest of the dishes were lovely especially the pad Thai, sea bass was different and more on the sweet side but I would recommend to try this. The only thing I don’t particularly enjoy is sharing my table and being seated quite close to strangers but I understand and appreciate this is Baisaab’s style. Startford branch was busy at lunch and we were sat at the end where it’s hard to get waiters attention but when the staff are around they were pleasant and helpful. Good variety to choose from too, if you like a sweet Lemonade try it here.
Loved the ribs...not sure about belly...it may be me but taste is a burnish taste...could just be the style. Cocktail a bit tart but manager was great and gave us some sugar syrup that soon made them great. Anil was great too...very polite
Had a great time, amazing eats! Went to eat for my dad’s birthday and we loves the food! I had the chicken satay small plate and the veggie spring rolls as a side and they were really tasty. Especially the chicken satay, the peanut satay sauce was extremely flavourful. The spring rolls were really good too, hit the spot. For mains, I had the chilli beef jasmine rice (extra spicy), which I absolutely recommend- the mix of the minced beef, fried egg, and the rice was a 10/10. Portions were just right as well. Greatly appreciated. My dad had the ‘Bang kapi katsu’ and he loved it. We also had prawn crackers to start and were actually pretty tasty too. Service was impressive too, and the waiting time was smooth. Definitely would come back!
I'm a big fan of Busaba since my London working days visiting the branch near Selfridges way back in 2007.
The Westfield branch is equally as epic as those very early experiences.
The squid remains a firm fave. Taste hasn't changed over the years. A crunchy coating dresses with peppercorns.
My fave item is the crispy duck noodles. Can be salty but I really like the combination.
The red curry sauce was on the thinner side but the taste was not compromised. I admit to using a spoon as eating it almost as a soup because it was so tasty.
My husband always enjoys the pad thai and again this is consistent in taste across branches.
We also really enjoyed the sweet potato fries, which we wouldn't normally buy. They were crispy outside and soft in the middle. Perfect with the sriracha mayo!
We skipped dessert but they've got pancakes on the special menu which I will return to try!
Good food, portions a little small but served super quick and we were in and out in about half an hour. Service by Akshay was excellent. Thanks mate.
We had a nice meal, the pad Thai Jay was delicious. The green curry was bright pea green and full of courgettes. It looked more like pea soup! It was OK. We had rice and I had banana spring rolls for pudding and mint tea. Overall a nice meal. Quite expensive for what we had. Service was good but they were a bit super quick to clear everything away which I find a bit fussy. Just chill out a bit!

Fantastic vibe and accommodating staff! Even without a reservation, my friend and I were seated comfortably at their shared tables, which still provided a private feel due to their spacious design. The food was reasonably priced, offering good value for money. I savored the flavorful ginger beef with a side of fragrant rice and wok-tossed vegetables, while my friend enjoyed the delicious tom ka gai soup and crispy fried chicken wings. Everything was incredibly tasty! The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
Absolutely delicious food! Decent service and decor. But shame about the sticky table surface and tight spacing between heavy wood tables.
Pretty chilled place. I’ve had the meal severally. Black pepper beef with wok noodles was really nice and spicy.
Fantastic Thai restaurant - the deco is really cool with dark tones and Thai vibes, at the entrance they have candles and incense which cause a very welcoming first impression. The restaurant have shared tables and service is quite fast. We had spring rolls as starter, as mains we asked for vegan pad thai and asparagus rice - the last one was a quite nice surprise, really flavourful. For dessert I was craving some chocolate but unfortunately they did not have any vegan/vegetarian option for chocolate dessert so we ordered banana fritters which were pretty yummy so I forgot about the chocolate. I would recommend the place to friends and I’ll probably repeat.
First experience with Thai food for my 7years old son and myself, I'm well impressed! :) The portions were massive for me, even the kids option was a generous amount. Beautiful colours and flavours, children's food mildly spiced. The selection is huge, even if you are vegetarian or vegan. Reasonable prices, friendly staff. We loved it. :)
The restaurant had an amazing energy, the decor is pretty, the food is top quality, I asked for more garlic and my rice and there was extra garlic. The service was great, water with ice was given and the overall experience was just amazing. I've already written in about Andrew who was friendly, personable and helpful with choices. He knew what was halal and what wasn't. He assured my mum that the spring rolls are fried separate to the pork. He was amazing.
The place was perfect for a light sunny lunch! Service is friendly. Asian greens were crunchy and tender, my noodles were a bit sticky and didn’t taste very fresh but overall it was a nice experience.
This is an excellent Thai restaurant the food is authentic and very very good. Tasty.
The decor is a little dark and heavy almost Korean feel, but it works. The tables are shared so this common approach means there is always a smile or a conversation to be had. And again this is normal in some market type cafes in Thailand, so adds to rhe authenticity.
Not authentic Thai but okay ish, not bad overall, portion is pretty big. Affordable, could have a try
