Discovered this wonderful cafe while driving back from the coast. The apple pie and berry crumble were absolutely fantastic. The Buck is like an idyllic dream in the Scottish countryside.
Lovely homemade cakes and superb coffee. Outdoor tables and seating for when the weather's good. (It's lovely inside when the weather's not so kind.) Perfect location in the main village street. Ideal for cyclists passing through.
Since the relatively new Dutch owner took over The Buck, I have visited a few times now while either cycling or motorcycling and on every occasion, it has been a relaxed and pleasurable experience. The Dutch Apple Pie is (perhaps understandably?) very good and the quality of the coffee is outstandi

Hidden gem! On a day driving the galloway forest we stumbled upon this (dog friendly) tea room. We had a tea and a lovely home made bake. Its a must visit while in the neighbourhood
It's a coffee and cake shop only. Small shop with friendly service. Good stop for cyclists with cycle stand outside.
