Nice friendly welcome to the restaurant..full of character and good choice of pre-dinner drinks! Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and took us to our table. Very good varied choice of food..went for smoked duck for starter. Presented well and tasted very flavoursome. Main was very tasty sea bass on crush potatoes with mint n lemon. Very light refreshing and seasoned well. Homemade ice cream was a real treat together with the white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. The evening was very enjoyable and will go back to try their Sunday lunch...if there is any criticism it would be perhaps a basket of bread/rolls would just be nice to have with the starter!

Wasn't sure at first. But then we ate. Wow! Really good food, cooked to perfection. Very "cosy" inside. I prefer a bit more modern decor, a little more open, this is why I wasn't really sure about it at first, but it was still lovely. Very old pub like, which is exactly what it is so, you know, there's that. Can't fault the food or the service. The landlord was friendly and the waiter was very polite and on the ball, exactly what you want. Super experience. The setting was also lovely. And there was ample parking.

We're still fairly new to the area and have only eaten here twice. We love it! It's not the cheapest but the menu and food quality is brilliant. Really good bar with great range of malt whiskys and gins for me and great beer for my partner. The place has a lovely mix of good quality restaurant for special occasions and traditional pub for the locals complete with roaring fire. We'll definitely return when we're next celebrating a special occasion.

Booked on the strength of the reviews online we were most impressed. The food was excellent, fresh and of the highest quality. The ambience spot on. The staff attentive. And the owner very polite and considerate. We sat by the fire after our meal and enjoyed a drink and a chat with him. We would highly recommend this venue for any occasion.

Lovely warm atmosphere and welcome. Efficient and pleasant waiter. Food was delicious and plentiful, well worth the money. Will definitely go again. Would advise booking in advance both evening and lunch time to avoid disappointment.

A lovely rural setting, very pleasant terrace with shrubs, flowers, herbs and fruit trees, friendly staff. Our light lunch was tasty and well presented. We will definitely be going again.

I almost hesitate to review this place, as it's so perfect I want it all to myself. The food is wonderful, the chef has a real passion and is happy to leave the kitchen and come and talk about how he creates his wonderful dishes. Even the biscuits with cheese are handmade, and these and the (handmade) sorbets are particularly delicious. The roast pork with tiny whole pears imported from France is also especially good. Added to the sublime food, is a perfect view in peaceful countryside. It doesn't get much better than this!

Really nice pub in picturesque location. Excellent drink selection. Staff were friendly, helpful and very attentive to any additional needs. Food was very good but a bit pricey for what it was. Would recommend it.

If you want a really good meal and somewhere that caters for DF and GF foods, this is the place. Not particularly cheap but so worth it. It's in a beautiful rural spot, lovely garden and whilst it does not have a 'children's' specific menu, will certainly do their best to adapt what they have to give smaller portions: all food is fresh and not frozen. Devine's puds too, if that's your thing. Totally recommend a visit: it's so worth it.

Had a great meal on New Year's Eve. The selection of food was excellent and cooked perfectly. The service was exceptional and fast. The pub it's self is worth the visit.

Good food, friendly atmosphere and good selection of wines and beer.we keep eating there because the food is always good and it NOT pub food as mentioned by others. The Crown is more of a restaurant than a pub because it seems all who visit tend to eat there.

Our table of five enjoyed an excellent menu of well-presented and carefully prepared food, all of which was complemented by careful but friendly service. Well worth getting to and we shall certainly return.
