Lovely place slightly hidden but well worth a visit especially if you are gluten free as they have a wide variety of choices. I had homemade gluten free scones, jam and clotted cream, which was delicious. They also have gluten free bread for sandwiches and other food options. Owner was very welcoming and friendly and I'd thoroughly recommend. We will be back.

I really enjoyed the fresh, delicious bread & cheese. The cream tea was very good! One of the best scones I've had! Loved it fresh and warm! Had to take homemade cakes with me because I got too full! I couldn't decide between two cakes, so they let me have half a slice of each! Wonderful cakes! (I had carrot and zesty lemon.) The personal touch was great! Will look forward to coming here again!!

Scrummy cream tea. As we were not starving, we shared one cream tea which was two scones, jam and cream and they were delightful. The tealeaf tea was very nice too. Not very often you get a pot served with an accompanying tea strainer. Couldn't fault anything from the food to the really nice gentleman who served us. The menu is a good read with snippets to entertain and inform. A must read. We will be back to sample more delights in the near future.m

Had lunch here today, and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The food was outstandingly good, being fresh, tasty and very well presented. This was matched by the warm welcome, and great service we received from the Proprietor. We shall certainly be back!

This is a very friendly and cosy tearoom. The owner may not have made all the food in house, but the ingredients he sourced from were top quality. The clotted cream to go with the scones was the best we’ve had in our trip – it was just the right thickness and had a light creamy taste. I enjoyed my Ploughman’s lunch very much – especially the cheese and the sauce they used for the salad. Service was excellent and very personal. I would certainly come back here when I visit Stow on the Wold next time.

Best place for cream tea/scones. Glad we booked in advance because there are limited seats. Peaceful, charming ambiance. Amazing service and food, especially the cakes! Also recommend their coleslaw and Brie w/ cranberry sandwich. The way the place is run is very thoughtful and thorough. It felt homey. Portion sizes are filling - perfect for a day of sightseeing and walking. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our lovely meal. ♥️

We had been looking for recommended spots for a nice afternoon tea and this place did not disappoint! We had the cream tea, hot chocolates and my partner had cheese and tomato on toast. The hot chocolates were proper melted chocolate (none of that powdered rubbish) and the scones were served warm and tasted very fresh. The servings of cream and jam were plentiful and the cheese on toast was divine. Fortunately my partner let me have a bite (or 2). The gentleman that served us was lovely, friendly and attentive. We were also touched by their story and felt that the care and compassion that they have was very evident in the atmosphere and service that they provide. We cannot wait to visit again!

Absolutely lovely experience here. Feels like you've popped into someone's home. Stopped by on the way back to London from Stratford upon Avon and Alan was incredibly kind and accommodating. And the food was delicious! Had gluten free crumpets and a ham and cheese melt that were some of the best food we had in all of England. Sadly we didn't have time for cream tea, but I'm so glad we managed to get in. Highly recommend calling ahead for reservations if you're going for afternoon tea, as a lot of the Cotswold's tours stop here and the restaurant only has five tables, but it's worth it.

We just had to visit once we had heard all the good reviews. The cream tea was served with 2 large scones and a generous serving of clotted cream and home-made jam. Fresh and delicious. I can confirm it was the best scone eaten during 2 months of travel in the UK. Bonus points for a cup of tea in a china cup and saucer. Tried coronation chicken sandwiches for the first time 😋 Service with a smile and attention to detail. Good idea to book ahead.

A real gem during our visit. The history and what the place stands for are really nice touches. Alan was a lovely host, and made a real effort in making us feel special though the place was constantly busy. They stand by their word, and never at one point we felt rushed. Alan made us feel at home. Main feedback would be more of a non dairy alternatives available like cheese. But everything is sourced locally where they try which is a plus point. Food we had: Jacket potato, the salad was awesome Quiche was melt in the mouth Steak, was well done Thank you and best of luck for the future!

We stopped in here looking for an afternoon pick me up. The owners were very friendly and happy to show us Yankees how to properly eat a scone. While we can only speak to the flavor of the scones and jam—which were delicious—the other food being served up also looked great! Definitely stop in if you find yourself in Stow and in need of refreshment.

Truly delicious scones, the best quiche I ever tasted and the hot chocolate was extra special, too. The food is made with real thoughtfulness, but the love and attention to detail goes further than the dishes served. It felt like visiting a generous friend’s home. We were never rushed, service was attentive and kind, and the atmosphere was one of comfort and dare I say, love. Highly recommend reserving a table to make sure you get to enjoy this special spot.

We absolutely loved our lunch and cream tea here! I’m sure everything is wonderful, but we tried the coronation chicken sandwich and jacket potato…and WOW. Highly recommend. So creamy and delicious! We followed lunch with cream tea. The scones were amazing and fluffy and warm! You can tell everything is prepared in-house and made with love. We also had a lovely chat with Alan and received wonderful service. They stay busy and it’s easy to see why! Book a table in advance because you don’t want to miss it!
