Stopped for lunch, made to feel very welcome even with our 3 large dogs who were given a free sausage each and some dog biscuits! Food was excellent and reasonably priced, we went for small plates menu, the only disappointment being these were not included in the BlueLightCard card scheme because they are classed as starters even though we had 4 between 2 of us. We would definitely make this our local if only we lived closer!
Lovely Sunday dinner with our daughter and granddaughter food was absolutely gorgeous so much better than a carvery. Meat was perfectly cooked and good selection of veg. Portion sizes were huge so don't think it's not good value because it certainly is. Desserts were lovely too. Chocolate brownie highly recommended. Online booking service very easy to use. Service very good lovely team working well together. Could not fault in any way.
Today we spent a lovely afternoon with family celebrating our Silver Wedding anniversary and my husbands 65th birthday. The communication from the start was fab and the staff were friendly, professional and efficient. The food was great and everyone was happy with their meals. I was able to decorate the room - staff sent me photos so I had an idea of the space and the were happy for me to bring a cake.
Service could be improved a lot. Seems like there is no system in place. Not enough staff covering entrants.
Tables could be cleaner.
Food is inconsistent.
First time poor to average.
Second time very good. Especially for the prices.
More consistency and better systems for the staff need to be implemented.
The old Beams has a lovely atmosphere and friendly professional staff. We had a Sunday dinner which was a decent portion for a reasonable price tasty. Our desserts (flake cheese cake and sorbet) were absolutely delicious!!
Went for a nice afternoon meal I had the Beef and ale pie with chips and peas, was served by Abbie very helpful and polite, the food was very tasty and hot and plenty there too the pie was full with meat and was one of the best I've ever had think will be back to try a burger or pizza next
We stayed here for a couple of nights in our motorhome. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We did eat here twice a lunch and a evening meal. Both meals were very good and tasty, some of the nicest food we have had while eating out.
Very good carvery that doesn't skimp on choice or size , made to wait for each individual table to go and get served which works well .
Great first visit to this pub.

Tuesday night was quiet and we were seated reasonably quickly to a clean table.
The menus are varied and very well priced and based on our experience all the portions for starters, mains and desserts were larger than any we have had elsewhere.
Service was very good, not interfering, just right with friendly and happy staff serving us throughout the evening.
Our group had starters of prawn cocktail, fried chicken strips and mac and cheese balls with salsa. These came to us very well presented and in portion sizes bigger than any starters we have had before. They all had salad accompanying them. The chicken was a little overdone but we all happily finished them off.
For mains we had a rump steak, pan roasted chicken with sauteed new potatoes, ham and eggs and sausages and mash. Again great portion sizes, very well presented. Our people thought the chicken and sausages mains were lovely. The steak was described as good butbdry, perhaps slow cooked? And the cool ham would have been better had the ham been fresher.
The desserts were delicious. We had warm chocolate brownies which come with ice cream, and an awesome white chocolate cheesecake - thoroughly recommend that if you like cheesecake. One of the best I've ever tasted.
Easy ample parking outside.
Excellent range of cocktails.
Good wine options at reasonable prices.

Lovely food, very fresh, only one little problem they forgot the red onion in the beetroot, red onion and tomato salad
Really good food here and at a fair price I would say ,All set in a smashing old building & I should know as I grew up in this building when it was a farmhouse !
Great atmosphere, but food was not what I expected . Slow cooked chicken balti ??? Chicken was cooked on a grill. You could see the lines from the grill plate, so the chicken had a skin on it, which I wouldn't expect from a balti.
Ordered the ploughmans so disappointed. No tomatoes, no pickle, no salad dressing and salad very poor. Usually have a good meal but wont be ordering this again
Absolutely great quantity of food provided, freshly served and good value.
Reason for four stars? Well table was a little sticky to the touch maybe a bit picky, but my beef and onion pie was beef and carrot. So hence the down grade.
Found the toilet sign amusing.
Loved our Sunday lunch. Pleasant and friendly staff and atmosphere
had a superb meal of sea bass. charming staff &, very important to me, dog friendly. looking forward to eating there again
