Great meal, make reservations first as they get super busy. But it's totally worth it, we did just walk in. So they can't be faulted. The food and beer was deliciousiouso. The service was slow but they looked way understaffed so they got all 5/5. Not their fault. Just remember it's worth it.
This is the informal eating space in The Royal Hotel, and it strikes a good balance. There is no table booking here, it’s walk in only on a first come basis. The food comes from the same kitchen as the Boatshed Restaurant next door, so you know the quality here is going to be high. The Braised
Stopped in randomly after arriving on the ferry as it seemed the busiest spot for food. We had a really lovely lunch of mussels and shared a bowl of chips. A couple of drinks each too, slightly on the pricey side but we enjoyed it so didn’t mind, service was a little slow as we sat for 10 mins with
Great food, welcoming staff and friendly. Price for kebabs, roasted veg, salad and flat bread was definitely reasonable. Would come again.
Had a meal here on 3/7/23. Greeted in a friendly manner by the manager who, I think, had remembered that we had called in earlier in the day to enquire whether I could reserve a table, I couldn't but we were accommodated instantly on our return. The food was well cooked and tasty and the the cafe ha
Popped in for a quick bite at lunchtime, and opted for the calzone. You'd better be hungry - it was a large (and fantastic) calzone, and it came with salad and chips! Fabulous staff, great food, and a wonderful setting right on Cromwell Street and looking out toward the harbour. Highly recommended.
Wonderful place. Visited during a cruise and couldn't believe how good the Pork Ramen was; easily on par with that of specialist Japanese restaurants we've visited in London. The staff were also extremely welcoming.
Do note that the prices are commensurate with the quality, but absolutely worth it.
It was ok....but not a rush back sort of situation. Great local ingredients but a few small issues. No check back so was unable to point this out. We were seated quickly after a comfortable wait on the sofa. The fish pot thai dish was under seasoned and bland but fish cooked well. The haddock a
Menu not the greatest but I had mussles and they were fresh and amazing. Service was good. Sitting at the window with a view of the Lewis Castle. Lovely xx
Decent menu with a good variety to suit most tastes. Both myself and my partner had a burger; I had cajun burger and he had the beef burger and we both really enjoyed them.
The young staff are very friendly and polite.
The only downside is that it's 'walk-ins' only; they won't take a booking, so
Planned to go to the Boatshed next door but it was Saturday and I didn't have a booking, so ended up in the cafe next door. Mussels were lovely, service excellent, the same kitchen as the Boatshed.
The ambiance is great. Location, good. Staff were lovely but the food was a wee bit average. For the price the food needed something more. It's not cheap.
Great menu, delicious food, first class service and very cosy👍.
Great food choices, really worth a visit if in Stornoway.. Opposite lewes castle, part of the Adjoining hotel. All produce locally sourced. Great portions too.
Friendly Staff, a couple of options for Vegans and Vegetarians. They don't cook their chips separately though. I had a Buddha Bowl. Very tasty.
Called in by chance thoroughly enjoyed lunch with my partner, both having chicken wraps, had a good selection of puddings which we took full advantage of, would recommend
It's a great place. The food was really good quality, had the Sunday roast and went for lunch today. Lovely friendly and accommodating staff
From my experience, this was the best service in whole Scotland!
They did their best so we got a seat in the fully booked restaurant.
They were realy friendly and the meal was delicious!
