Lovely food but a little pricey. Cocktails nice and offers on 5-7pm but the absolute value to this place is the staff. They can't do enough for you. Worth a visit if you don't want a spoons as this place is way up market in comparison.
It was most probably the best breakfast that I have had for a very long time. Everything was fresh and well cooked.
Could not fault any of it, and a big bonus was it being dog friendly.
Staff brought a bowl of water and treats for my dog, very nice touch.
If you find yourself near Stone in Staffordshire then a visit to The Bear is highly recommended. Quality food backed up by outstanding service. I recommend the bubble and squeak cakes if they're on the menu. Booking in advance recommended.
From the beginning a friendly welcoming environment, staff are amazing food & coffee is 10/10 I would highly recommend.
This place is awesome; I'm sure it used to be a bank - they've kept the architecture and done it up really well. The styling is very modern (think "Boston Tea Party" if you're familiar with that chain). The waiters are relaxed and so friendly, with quick service. I love the menu - so much to choose from, for various dietary requirements. I was very impressed with the flavour and quantity of food, as well as its presentation - that's the order in which they matter to me! I will definitely go again.
Absolutely amazing. Always top quality food and atmosphere and the vanilla latte is the best in Stone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I couldn't fault the staff or the ambience, but I felt that some of the food was over cooked, I still managed to clear my plate through. Would I return? definitely. Plus, everyone else said their food was very good.
Our son brought us here for a light lunch as he's been plenty of times before.
Nice friendly staff, modern style decor, good selection of food in coffee shop style.
I went for the bear breakfast, which is served all day.
It was not a great big English style but a tasty one just the same: a couple of sausage poached egg, spiced bear beans, crispy smoked bacon, mushroom, sourdough toast and tomatoes.
Plenty for a light lunch, all washed down with a nice coffee.
My wife had the fish finger sandwich, which she was very happy with, and said it was really tasty. It came with a side bowl of little potato croquettes
Couldn't tell you what the prices are for the food, but the cappuccino was £3. About what you'd expect at most places.
The service was good, and the place was busy. I'm very likely to call her again
An enjoyable experience on the whole. With a few things to be noted.
A more welcoming/ informative entrance would be appreciated. Table service or order at counter not apparent.
Coffee, flat white was a little off balance. Tasted like too long a shot.
Shakshuka was great albeit sans butter for the sourdough.
Angry Mac was great but needed a little something. Slightly on the dull side. I think possibly the “angry Mayo” on this occasion was a little past it’s premium. A slight sweetness to this sauce would have differentiated this meal from the average brioche-bound burger.
A great experience nonetheless. Highly recommended.
A nice atmosphere and comfortable seating.
I had a flat white, a short stack of pancakes and a carrot cake. The coffee and the cake were excellent! The bits of the pancake dish that weren't pancakes were beautiful and very tasty unfortunately let down by the pancakes which felt very dry and a little stale.
I'll be returning though as everything else was perfect!
We visited on a Sat morning in Oct, we couldn't get a seat inside, so sat outside and we were a little worried we may have to wait a long time (as they were so busy), however our drinks came quickly as did the food. The breakfast (sausages, streaky bacon, mush, tom, 3 x hash browns, poached egg and a side of shakshuka and toasted sour dough ).. not enough butter for the toast but dunked into the shakshuka and it was great... was hesitant about the streaky bacon but wow, cooked to perfection. Really lovely food, will return x
Really good independent cafe with great food selection and fab coffee. Great to see it holding its own using its much superior product against the giant multi-national next door.
I’m going to knock one star off for service. I’ve been a couple of times and most of the staff we dealt with 100% fab, but recently our food was sat up on the pass ready for quite a few minutes, yet staff seemed to be doing non-urgent tasks such as polishing spoons or refilling the coffee grinder, rather than running the hot food to tables which seemed baffling.
Wonderful brunch spot with a fantastic menu. Food was delicious, eggs were probably some of the best I've ever had at a brunch place, coffee was good too. Definitely recommend booking in advance, and be aware that it's order at the counter. Get there early if you want cinnamon buns!
The coffee is a bit meh, but great full English breakfast! Friendly helpful staff. They could do with making a bar type seating area though (high counter with bar stools) as it's always full at weekends and they would be able to get more people in.
Lovely cafe for brilliant brunch or a coffee. Not been on an evening but I hear good things. If the evening menu lives up to the quality of brunch, then I would recommend. Fabulous team working and great service.
Had an excellent breakfast in here this morning, couldn't fault any part of it. Very accommodating to young toddler (kids pancakes are great) and great coffee.
To say I'm fussy is a bit of an understatement but BEAR listened to what I requested and did it with perfection. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Brunch was fantastic and fairly reasonably priced.
Great service, great food and the drinks were wonderful. Have a great lunch with my friend and would definitely go again. GET THE TATER TOTES people so so so good.
