Chris and Carmel (and the rest of the team!) have done a fab job of sprucing up the place and giving it a warm and friendly atmosphere. We had our End of Summer work party here on 22nd September and it was enjoyed by all. The Carribean food went down a treat and the Steel Drummer was an excellent and alternative entertainment. I can highly recommend this place for your next event and also for a good value and delicious carvery on a Sunday. Wishing you both all the best for a highly successful venture!

We went there on a Wednesday night for my birthday dinner. We precooked the table and there was a 20% discount. Great food and staff, lovely location and very modern decoration. Its a bit pricey for what it is, especially the food but a great place to go.

Went for a meal on Saturday night. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgable about the food and wines. A pleasant ambience and warm on a cold night! We went for the steak pie and it was wonderful. Homemade, fresh vegetables and chunky chips, just what I want from a pub meal. Will visit again to try the goat stew. A gem

Absolutely love this place!!!! The perfect English roast, rum cocktails with REAL Caribbean food & other classic British food choices too, great wine menu, gin menu EVERYTHING. I felt like I was on a holiday when i was in the outside area In the sun the other weekend, if weather is bad the inside is super stylish and cosy too I think Chris & Carmel should be VERY proud of this little gem

Lovely old building, pleasant staff, good menu and reasonable prices. We ordered a salad for my wife and I had the steak and ale pie. The salad was excellent, the pie would have been too except it had only been heated properly on one side so I had to leave a good third. Pity. Otherwise I would give 5 stars

Pre booked for New Year's Eve and we weren't disappointed. My two daughters, wife and I received a friendly welcome and after a quick drink at the bar shown to our table. The staff were relaxed but attentive and the food was excellent. Both daughters chose beef in red wine which they haven't stopped talking about. I didn't have the opportunity to taste Willy's brew on the evening but I'm doing so as I write - it's good! A pub worth a visit.

Absolutely delicious Jamaican and English food fusion with a good menu. The food was amazing. Great indoor seating, reggae music playing, good children's play area. Minimal parking though. Would have been a full 5 star review if the owners present could have mustered up a smile and also no Red Stripe available. Even so, we will definitely be going back and have recommended to others. A great pub & we wish them every success with their business

Loving the food in this up and coming gastro pub. A choice between classic British pub grub (well done) and a taste of Jamaica to spice up your life! Nice atmosphere, old country pub feel with a bit of modern chic. Staff are very friendly and helpful but sometimes service is a bit slow which is not a problem if you'd rather be social and chat over food than be rushed through each course. Top choice!

Probably one of the best pubs in the area. Great food and very nice staff. You'll probably have fun with the people working there as they are genuinely nice people. The food is very nice and they can offer some Jamaican plates or Jamaican infused plates. It has parking and a nice outdoor area, you'll love the fire pit outside especially if you are with lots of friends for a drink

Came today for a Sunday roast, originally planned to sit outside so didn't book, we sat inside in the end and had no issue getting a table. The food was really good, the jamaican and english combination is amazing. The only criticism we had on the roast was that the beef was a little dry however we did come later in the day so perhaps this was from it being kept warm/reheated - we still managed to eat it all! We also had very little roast potatoes (also likely down to coming later in the day) and when mentioning this to the waitress, she very quickly passed our comments on and soon we had a plate of 2 different types of roast potatoes from different dishes on the menu which were both delicious and more Yorkshire puddings. The staff who served us were polite and friendly, the pub itself is really nice and I'm looking forward to going back to try more of the menu! It's a shame the children's play area isn't in much working order with the swing being broken and cracked and the slide also being broken but hopefully these things are works in progress!

This little place has been transformed into a welcoming village pub. Initial teething problems now behind it, the Jamaican-influenced food is tasty and great value (esp. the set menu). Good outdoor space for eating, drinking and kids play. Keep it up.

Nice place. Looks like it's had a very recent upgrade. The Willy's Brew beer was OK, and the service was quick. The menu looked great but unfortunately the kitchen wasn't open when we went, but I'd go back to try it.

Just popped in for a pint. Have been in this pub on and off for 50 years. There have been many changes and the present occupants have done a very good job of making it a gastro pub . The menu looks very appetizing with a mix of dishes including a west Indian salection of courses. The pint of Guinness I had was spot on, this is always a good marker to indicate well kept bear.

We had a 5 generation photo shoot, which they very kindly let us use a room, and provided us with a lovely "afternoon tea" consisting if sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, cakes and tea and coffee... they also had an extensive Jamaican Menu as the land lady is Jamaican..

Only went for the jamaican food which was really really good! Also the house brewed ale is amazing. The only problem was a lack of staff the night we went but that's not really a complaint! We'll be back 😉
