Opted for the Steak and Ale pie which was awesome, big chunks of superbly tender beef in a gravy that could be better described as a sauce it was that rich and tasty. Very friendly staff, good beer and a really nice separate room with pool table and a juke box with great music...probably the best pub we've found on the Broads so far.
Huge Recommendation... The Ferry Inn... Been today with two under 4's. Food was the best (and ironically the cheapest) that we've had in the two weeks we've been in the area. Portions were generous and a side of sweet potato fries would have happily fed us all as an evening snack! Staff were lovely, customer service fantastic - and we even met their beautiful olde English sheepdog - Dougal! Play park was great and tucked around the back away from the water and people who may have wanted a quieter time. Amazing location and wide range of gluten-free options! We will definitely be returning. Apologies for the lack of food photos.... We ate it too quickly! For those of you with boats - they talked us through tidal mooring too! And recommended we watch a u-tube video if we return by water. Very helpful!
The Ferry Inn is without doubt the best pub on the broads. We loved everything about it we stayed the whole day. Staff are so friendly and food is amazing cant praise them enough. One member of our party said its the best pub food he has ever tasted and hes eaten in a few pubs over last 71 years.
This is our 4th visit (3rd under this landlady) and Alison and her hard working team didn’t disappoint. Thank god, tonight was our 14th Wedding Anniversary and we so needed a good night after a very disappointing night at Horning last night. This pub is a traditional welcoming wholesome pub serving good food, good portions and excellent customer service. In addition we had the most wonderful opportunity to meet Dougal the 11 month old Old English Sheepdog. Can’t wait to return in July and maybe met the new addition to the family. From one difficult customer to please and foodie, this pub is a must!!!!!
Stopped of for a well earned pint of Aspells having walked 10 miles up the river path from Yarmouth. Very friendly and efficient and don't charge for the water with ice. Didn't eat but what came out of kitchen looked nice and fair priced. Stunning views of the broads in the beer garden. If walking, boating or just in the area it's well worth a pop in.
Beautiful place nice food the staff made you welcome definitely recommend this place
Had to wait for our lunch but it was well worth it. Never did get to find out how the chef managed to fit a whole cow into my steak pie!
We had a lovely meal yesterday evening. Fantastic dog friendly pub, our 5 dogs got a wonderful welcome and the service and food was excellent. We'll definitely be visiting again.
Very relaxed and friendly. Is a dog friendly pub, dogs allowed in the bar area. Ideal for boaters, dog walkers and families. Fantastic food, large portions.
Well done to the very friendly staff. My rottie had a big fuss made of her. I drove 50 minutes from watton just to have a coffee and sit in the garden for a couple of hours. I will visit again soon .
Moored up for the night and had our evening meal. The Mr had the steak and ale pie which was amazing, I had the veggie red thai curry which was also lovely (though the addition of a salad next to the curry was questionable!) Lovely atmosphere and staff, well kept beers and a fantastic view. Be back again on our next holiday for sure!
Loved the roast dinner. Great Dog friendly place. Our dachshund Bernard got lots of fuss. Lovely pub clean and amazing staff to boot
fave place for a pint and a burger .
Fish and chips, fish finger sarnies. Great beer, great location and the friendliest bar staff on the Broads. What more can we ask for. If you have not visited, you have missed out.
Beautiful pub. Lovely food. Nice people. Lovely little village. Would recommend.
Lovely little pub, and they have a menu for gluten-free food aswell. There's a small shop in the back which has freshly made cakes and a lovely selection of chocolates
Had a pint of Ghost Ship in the garden, pub is nicely decorated internally, the garden could do with a bit of a tidy up. Food looked good although we were not eating, lovely location next to the river with boats moored. Nice atmosphere and sweet little chocolate shop at the back of the pub.
Four of us had lunch there yesterday.. fabulous food, fabulous service.. I didn’t want chips but asked for the homemade pepper sauce 🌟😇… it was divine! We’ll definitely go back

I’ve seen a couple of recent reviews and ‘TikTok’, ‘YouTube’, ‘Facebook’ videos mentioning this particular pub.
I visited here a week ago, moored up, plenty of space and no one in the pub.
The owners were outstanding, they were incredibly hard working people, the food was absolutely beautiful (we were here for dinner and for breakfast the following day).
I couldn’t eat my dessert or my breakfast, sadly I’d been feeling unwell. The owners and kitchen staff kindly put takeaway dishes together for me.
We were only one of two tables here for dinner - it was sad to see that a few had left an unbelievable mess behind. The staff were running themselves ragged attempting to clean up the mess left behind and serve us, so we mucked in!
I saw some comments about ‘a dog smell’. The owners have two of the most beautiful and well behaved old English sheep dogs who do not come down until the last customers have left - we specifically asked to meet them and give them a few treats.
As a family of two adults and four children (two of which were friends of my own children), this was an utterly easy, relaxing and wonderful experience for us.
We noted the waterfowl to the grounds and were pleased to hear that the ferry inn staff look out for them. They save food for them and check up on them on a daily basis.
They also have a little known chocolate haven and fresh produce shop to the back of the pub!
These guys are hard working, patient and wonderful people and they deserve your business.
It’s such a shame to find that social media posts can tarnish such a nice place with good people.
I think that the previous reviewee ‘Diane’ may have been one of the messy lot. 🤣
This charming old pub has a lot of character and history. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious with big portions. Our only disappointment was having to pay £8 to moor our hire craft overnight despite spending £80 on food and drink over the evening.
Very nice pub if your on the Broads, spacious mooring and very good rates for overnight stay. Dinner was tasty and moorish, and also breakfast the big fried breakfast was amply to set you up for the day, highly recommend a try…
Beautiful place to stop and moor up, lovely scenery and some great local walks.
It was £8 to moor up over night unfortunately like other places you don't get that back if you eat at the pub which was a but disappointing.
However the food was nice.
There is also a litte shop around the back which sells lovely looking cakes and chocolates!
Lovely pub beside the river. Very friendly staff. Food was hot and of a good portion size. Plenty of tables in the garden, dog owners please remember to pick up dog mess as various areas against river wall, it had been left behind. Good size car park and a must is to visit shop attached to pub and sample their homemade chocolates. Would definetly return again.
Booked in on a pretty busy evening. Our burgers were delicious, ribs ok but would opt for something different next visit. It was the young staff on that night that made this place - one coming to the end of a 12 hour shift, still smiling & chatty & doing an excellent job - owners should be very proud of their hard working staff.
Shop at the back of the pub - wow, lovely fresh homemade bread, cakes, pastries, pies & fudge amongst other things. So good we sailed back a couple of days later just to get bread !! Looking forward to our return there. Absolutely recommend.

What a great little pub called in for lunch I had the chilli it was nice but it could have been a bit spicier, my husband had the black and blue burger and said it was beautiful. Lovely setting right on the river, The weather was a bit wild and windy but could imagine sitting outside there in the summer with a nice cold beer watching the boats.
Beautiful environment, wonderful staff and mostly awesome food. Good place to be with kids and pet friendly... If u turnup here you will agree with me...
We have stopped here many times. Pleasant and friendly staff. Food delicious and served quite quickly.
Lovely friendly pub in a beautiful location. The staff were very polite, friendly and professional. Dogs are allowed in the bar while you eat which for me personally is a huge plus. Good menu choice and reasonably priced. The food was very nice and portion sizes were plenty big enough. Sunday roast was good with two large chicken breast portions. I arrived by car but boaters on the broads can moor up alongside the pub's beer garden so it's great for boat holiday visit. Will be returning here again when I'm next in the area.Visit was 18th November, the pub was nice and quiet and we didn't need to book a table.
