Fabulous food, excellent menu choices, presented well by staff who know the meaning of customer service. Well done! The music was fabulous of course, Pete Lincoln was showing his immense musicality skill and his humour and professionalism saved the day when the C.B's. P.A.system failed him. His second set when the faulty speaker was disconnected allowed him to perform and not be distracted. Over all it was a lovely evening and I would thoroughly recommend the music evenings or just a great meal out.

I have been going to the Crooked Billet on and off for many years and have always received exemplary service. The food is always top notch and the atmosphere is so welcoming, I never want to leave! I would go more except I would be the size of a house. I look forward to my next visit.

We had a fabulous family meal on Sunday, the service was exemplary from the moment we arrived. The Sunday roast and Sea Bass did not disappoint and the desserts were delicious. I also discovered the best wine I’ve ever sampled.

I went with a fee friends to see some live music. The show was ace. The food was outstanding with a great variety of dishes on the menu. Loved the building and it is steeped in history. Some very interesting old classic French cars in the rear car park.

Superb outside dining experience here with some friends from US. Really friendly and efficient service. Great menu, hard to choose just one dish per course! Went for the luncheon set menu. Mussels were perfectly cooked in a very rich tomato sauce. My perfectly cooked duck had nicely rendered crispy skin, toothsome beans and rich sauce balanced by the samphire and smear of salsa verde. My guests were amazed at the beautifully executed chicken liver parfait which we all shared. The curried quinoa cakes really worked and my friend’s fillet steak and scallops hit the spot for him. Overall it was a lovely, quiet and traffic-free location; I’m only sorry we hadn’t been before! Highly recommended.

We had the most incredible wedding at the Crooked Billet and cannot recommend Paul and the team enough. The food was incredible (everybody told us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding!), the service was faultless (and so friendly, what a team they have here!) and they created the most relaxed and amazing day!

Came here for lunch on the way to a couple of days in Thame. Completely hidden away down a country track (at least, from the direction we were coming from) but a real little gem of a pub/restaurant. Wonderful food, very courteous staff and a beautiful garden to sit in. Great Pimms too! Perfect.

A quaint little place tucked right out of the way, the low ceilings, wooden furniture and broad fireplaces make you remember what an original British pub is like. We had the Sunday roast menu (£40pp) and the bill for two, 3 courses, came to just over £100 total. The food was delicious and the servers polite and caring. Would recommend people to try. My only critique is that the menu is littered with Americanisms - scallions not spring onions for example. Shame.
