Stayed here with my friends for an Alton Towers trip. after a long day we was greeted with lovely staff who had everything ready for us to sign and pay which was great that we didn't have to wait around. was shown around by Polly who was very helpful and showed us everything we needed and helped us with everything we needed. the rooms was amazing, really clean, tidy and had everything we needed. was lovely to have access to apps like Netflix and YouTube for the night. Felt very at ease the entire night as the building was very secure separating the pub from the guest rooms. Easy check in, no need to check out which saved us hassle the morning after. Great to have places to eat very close by too.
I could not recommend enough and would most definitely be staying here again when we come back.

Great little pub. Went in last Friday night. Was greeted by friendly staff and customers. Traditional old style boozer, well maintained and decorated.
Room was exactly as described, had a perfect night's sleep. Continental breakfast was self-service in a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of options. Owners were super friendly and accommodating, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Perfect location for the Kings Hall venue, easily walkable.
Great public for food and drink verry friendly staff not sure about the rooms as not stayed overnight but would highly recommend 👌

Great location with lots of shops etc around (sainsburys and lidls literally across the road), The staff are wonderful, the rooms are wonderfully refurbed with a true touch of "Stoke" to them, although located above a bar it was quiet enough by 10pm, The kitchen they've put together is just wonderful it makes you feel like it's home from home, as a frequent traveller through Stoke throughout the year I can confirm that it's on par with some high class properties for rent on air bnb etc, it's cheap enough too, So overall I'd give these guys 10/10 for their efforts of doing their thing here, Sabastian.
This B&B is good value and well situated for the bus. The kitchen is good and well stocked. All in all a very comfortable stay.
Large, beautifully clean room with everything you would need. Self service breakfast was fine and bar had good ales at very reasonable prices.
Owners were very helpful regarding information. Only a 15 minute walk or £5 taxi from.the station.

Stayed for one night whilst on my way to Manchester. The location was perfect and parking was easy.
The room was spacious and very clean. The setup is very well thought out and has everything you need. Having the communal kitchen is really useful and again has everything you would need if you wanted to cook yourself some food. Although you are above a pub the noise in the room we were in was minimal. The keyless entry system is also a nice touch.
Breakfast was continental and you could just help yourself which I personally really liked and it had everything you could want.
I called the pub and the landlady was helpful and the room was cheaper booking it direct.

Had a really wonderful stay here. The owners are really friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, and the kitchen for breakfast and dinner was perfect. As a little update for the owners themselves - I passed my exams, must’ve been due to the great few nights of sleep I got! Thank you 😊
Stayed here on Saturday after watching the football. Great pub with good selection of ales. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean. Can't recommend it enough, we will definitely come again. The best thing are the lovely people who work there. Thanks Haley for a lovely stay.
I can't recommend this pub enough. I stayed here on business on a week night and it was fantastic! Hayley was super friendly and helpful and made me feel at home. The room was comfortable and clean and the overall process very well thought out for access into the building after hours. The pub was quiet and the breakfast was great (which was a help yourself in a communal kitchen). I will definitely return when next in the area
A little gem
Stayed here over the weekend whilst visiting family.
Not an area we are particularly familiar with so was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem . From the moment we walked into the pub itself we felt very welcomed - extremely friendly host and bar staff not to mention the locals. And the surprises didn’t stop there. Hayley showed us to our room which had been recently refurbished to a very high standard . Very large room with probably the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Next time we visit family we will definitely stay here - no point looking anywhere else. Five star would definitely recommend. Thanks so much to Hayley and Tazz.
We highly recommend booking bed and breakfast at the Sutherland Arms. The rooms and en suites are fitted out to the highest standards of quality and cleanliness. Access to a residents’ kitchen Is a great benefit and includes laundry facilities. The rooms and general premises feel extremely secure and free parking can easily found in the street nearby. The location is excellent for accessing the city centre, heritage sites, station and supermarkets. The standard of the continental breakfast was very good as is the range of ales and drinks at the bar. The landlord and landlady are extremely professional and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We would love to return to Stoke on Trent in the future and would definitely stay again at the Sutherland Arms.

Stayed one night and very impressed by the accommodation. Hayley has good taste and has applied it well to the rooms upstairs, while retaining the homely community feel of the pub downstairs. Everywhere, is clean and shining - old downstairs as well as new upstairs. Rooms are well soundproofed with excellent quality new windows, beautiful furnishings with crisp sheets and a most comfortable bed. Bathroom though small is modern and the shower excellent - easily controllable and top class fittings. She uses her technology capabilities most effectively from receipting payment, to effective wi-fi, good TV and security locks that have easy to remember numbers. Everything works well. Breakfast is well-planned and ample and the communal kitchen well equipped - or you can take it on a tray to eat in your room. We were delighted; and the price was very reasonable for such good quality. Thank you Hayley!
Lovely and friendly atmosphere both from management and the regulars. Feels like you're meeting friends every time you go in. There is no tolerance for excessive use of bad language either which is refreshing and means I'm happy to take my little ones in there on the odd occasion for a treat. Great selection of draft and hand pull beers and ciders and plenty of shelved spirits as well. Overall a great place to be and Hayley and Dave will forever have our custom!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were made very welcome by Dave & Hayley from the minute we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble including checking local restaurants to find us somewhere to eat. The rooms are lovely, sparkling clean and a continental breakfast we could help ourselves to. Loved chatting to them and some of the locals over a "couple" of gins in the evening. Highly recommended.
