We have used the Old Mill for the last 6-7 years. Always had a friendly welcome and good service. The food has been varied over that time, starting off good and remaining good for, probably 2/3 years when Michael and Russell had it, then they left and a grim period followed. New people took over and the food improved back to "good". We started using it on a fairly regular basis about 9/10months ago and throughout that time the food has been in the "excellent" category. It is one if three local hostelries which are our places of choice (along with The Rising Sun at Scholar Green and The Horseshoe at Lawton).
Had our wedding here 3years ago in August! It was perfect and all the staff were amazing and helped make sure our day went without any disruptions
Our son had his wedding there august bank holiday, fabulous venue, room was perfect, staff brilliant, perfect setting. Highly recommend this place xx

Stayed over for 2 days and it was perfect. We stayed in the Executive Suite which was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We went out in the day site seeing, as there is plenty close by and then returned to the quiet country retreat to relax. The bar had a lovely relaxed atmosphere, yet very professional, friendly staff and the food was delicious with something for everyone on the menu. You have to experience The Old Mill to feel everything this historic building has to offer, especially the lovely country setting looking out over the lake, with ducks and geese which our children enjoyed watching and feeding.

Excellent. Have driven past for the last few years, without venturing inside, finally decided to check it out. Fantastic location, lovely inside and the service seems good. Food is fantastic and reasonably priced. Rather nice beer garden with country views. Will definately return, can recommend this place for a nice meal or just a drink.
Would have given 5 stars as the food was excellent but we had to wait an age for it. Really nice staff explained they were new tenants and things were settling in so have no doubts the waiting time wont be an issue soon. Recommend this place to anyone;it's in lovely surroundings and,as said, big wow to the quality of the food.
We visited using a Groupon voucher for a 2 course steak dinner with a glass of wine. The food was excellent, one of the best steaks I've ever had & the chips especially were amazing. Large choice of desserts, all choices were very much enjoyed by our party. Couldn't fault the service even with it being our server's first day. This was our first visit & we cannot wait to return.

Most welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere in this beautifully decorated 17th century Old Mill. we were treated very well indeed, the room was very clean, and spacious and with touches of the "Olde Worlde" throughout, you felt that history was certainly all around you. We had a small sitting area and an en suite which was excellent. Cannot praise the housekeeper enough for the standard of cleanliness. Our evening meal was freshly prepared, lots of it and delicious and the full English we could have had, looked extremely appetising but due to the time factor we had to forego a huge breakfast and settle for tea, toast and bacon which was all fresh cooked and very tasty indeed. Ample car parking, peaceful surroundings and lovely staff, most certainly worth staying at and I am sure that the unevenness of the floors will take you back in time to when this beautiful building was powered by the water outside. Thank you to Caroline and crew for a welcoming stay and for your kindness. We most certainly look forward to staying again, and especially as we know dogs are more than welcome! T

We had our wedding reception here and dispute a rocky start with a few changes of managers in very quick concession we were understandably very anxious and wondering at 3 weeks to go whether there was even going to be a wedding reception at all. I have to say we need not have worried because Nick and Andrea that have taken over were simply brillant, they sat down with us and went through everything we wanted and were on hand every time we popped in or contacted them and assisted us without hesitation. They went out of there way to help us have the most amazing wedding reception, we really could not have asked for anymore from them as managers, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were attentive ensuring us and our guests were well look after and catered for! Yet we didn't notice they were there. At such short notice we would not have wanted anything to have been done differently. They ensured everything ran smoothly, we had the hot buffet option and the food was delicious.We can recommend this venue for any celebration you may have or just a spot lunch or a quite drink in a warming and homely environment. Thank you for making our day possible.

Gorgeous old pub with plenty of character. My parents had their first date here and we went to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Delicious food and the staff were very friendly.
A cosy Sunday lunch out with family, lovely atmosphere, dogs welcome and friendly service. Highly recommend the fish & chips so fresh and the batter was crispy too.
have had the pleasure of staying overnight and coming back on weekends to see the tremendous staff and sample their beautiful home cooked food and great selection of ales/drinks. we do a round trip opf about 60 miles to come here at weekends and i stay when i can with business as we are so impressed with this place, the management and satff. they even have a guest room available if you have pets they are so accomodating!
Lovely place, staff pleasant and accommodating, could not fault the food. Very clean, well priced, would defiantly recommend and we will be returning.
