Lovely dog friendly pub with fantastic real ales and food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the pub has a lovely village pub atmosphere
Fantastic service highly recommended for food and dog friendly with great sized portions and the best Nacho's I have ever tasted
Basic but friendly would be my initial assessment of this establishment. Came on a Saturday night when the place was very busy (always a pleasure to see a local pub being used!). Alice the waitress was very friendly and, despite being the only one present, was excellent. Food was acceptable, reasona
Great night here for food, quality home cooked food, very pleasant and friendly staff. Always a good atmosphere and a wide selection of drinks available. Would highly recommend!
Had a lovely evening in the beer garden with a great vibe from the locals. Seemed as though many of the locals had brought their dogs who were all very well behaved. The ale was excellent (two of my favourites) and the food was excellent. Well worth a visit.
Lovely pub , lovely staff , dog friendly
Had a meal with our newly wed daughter before she goes off on her honeymoon, it was lovely. Homemade chips..always a must. Chicken ballotine was lovely 😋 creamy garlic mushrooms..yummy. Will deffo eat again.
Nice for a wander and a pint. Haven’t eaten here. Great setting with the church nearby. It looks quaint and historic. Outside looks like it could do with a bit of a tidy up.
Visited on a Monday evening for a meal. A great pub with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious and although the bar staff were extremely busy, Courtney who served us was extremely friendly and very attentive throughout our visit. The all round experience was first class. Great food,
We recently had my daughters 30th birthday here and we were very impressed. The buffet was to a fine standard, lovely food and presentation. Considering we added an additional 50 people to their normal busy night the service was impecable, staff were so kind and polite and non of us waited more than
Great new menu. Can recommend the amazing cauliflower bang bang bites and Korean chicken bites. Delicious. Our favourite was the yuk sung which is lettuce boats filled with flavoursome tender mince and herbs and spices. It’s better than a Chinese restaurant. Great atmosphere and choice of beer is ve
Cosy little pub in the heart of Penkhull Village. I was able to have a gluten-free sticky toffee pudding here , so it's a winner. The server, Emily, was also really nice!
Fantastic pub. Food is always amazing and the staff are really friendly and helpful.
I don’t normally leave reviews on places I go but honestly this one deserves it. When me my partner and his mum went tonight we couldn’t have chosen a better place to go. The service was amazing really friendly and made me feel so at home (as I normally have issues eating out but not here). The food
Lovely atmosphere, charming staff, food was very nice and of generous portions. Very tasty. We went for lunch, never been before and was pleasantly surprised. It's a good pub with lots of history displayed on the walls
Really enjoyed a great meal here, the gammon egg and chips is very good. Friendly staff and good beer selection.
A relaxing tavern full of friendly people and steeped in the history of the village that I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying a vessel or two of ale in. Food looks delicious and I will be trying that next time I'm in Penkhull
Fantastic pub xxx and they love dogs too. Food is delicious
