Been four times, the food has always been lovely, very good selection of dishes. I particularly like the homemade pies, delicious I won't buy shop brought and takes an afternoon to make one at home, so to enjoy without the hassle is a treat same as a Sunday roast good also. I don't have puddings but my husband seems to enjoy them and they are presented well. Good selection of drinks. Had a couple of Moscow mules during one visit never had them before but recommend. It's a lovely restaurant and pub, nice atmosphere, staff are friendly. I made an error with my online booking and had made it for the wrong day, they sorted us a table quickly, I felt really silly I'd not noticed my mistake but they were so nice about it. Definitely somewhere we will keeping going to.

First but not last visit we came for our wedding anniversary meal and were not disappointed , the food was perfectly cooked and presented and of good portion size. The staff were welcoming on arrival with only a 10 min wait as we arrived for our booking early, staff were helpful and well presented, the tables cleared once diners left very efficient on every level . The overall atmosphere was relaxing and made our night a memorable one . Worth a visit if you have not done yet.

Nice relaxed atmosphere, service friendly, food worth the price you pay.... as I’m a chef myself we had no issues with our food and compliments to your kitchen team... only downside was steak knives could be sharper. Will be back again and would recommend this establishment to family and friends.

Excellent service, attentive professional staff, warm homely ambience, a good selection of wines, lager and ale as well as a comprehensive menu which offers good value and is also cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our meal immensely and will return at some point in the future.

Had a wonderful mother’s day celebration , I had smoked haddock on crush potatoes with veg, sauce to die for, my wife had the lamb shank, with good mash and veg, my wife commentated on how the lamb just fell away from the bone. Service excellent even though the place was heaving and didn’t have to wait to long for the meals to come out. Complements to everyone.

Clean and well presented with a friendly welcome from the outset. The Black Lake was reassuringly busy but still comfortable. The food was pretty much first rate. Delighted that you can ask for a steak to be cooked to your liking and it arrives spot on. Massive plus homemade proper chips ďż˝

We searched for a close to Stone, CL camp site, found this and booked. Ideal spot in a nice rural farm setting. Our meal at the pub was superb. Friendly reception when we arrived and excellent service. Looking forward to another visit. Dog friendly too. Nice outdoor fenced area

It's a gem of a pub / restaurant for anyone who enjoys great food at a reasonable price. Ample parking which is needed as it's a drive to get to, lovely staff and great portions of food. Totally recommended it đź‘Ś

Very nice place indeed, slap bang in the middle of Meir Heath, on the edge of good old Stoke on Trent. Lovely staff that make you feel very welcome from the second you walk through the door and are all good at their job, offer a great service. A real nice bunch of folk, they have working here. Meals are tasty and cooked to a good standard. Good selection, both of food and drink. Plus very reasonable prices. In fact, for where it is, you would probably think, that when you drive past this Inn, that it would be on the expensive side - but no, it's spot on.

We visited as a party of 9, which included 3 children, 2 of which have special needs. The tone for how fantastic our visit would be was set when 2 of the party arrived first and requested the kids get to order first so their food could come out first, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Ashleigh (or perhaps Ashley, we didn't check!) was incredible - she made sure the kids' food came out asap, and they were eating within minutes of our arrival. We're very grateful to her for her fantastic service. The adults' food also didn't take too long, and whilst my own plate was a substantial portion (I opted to 'go large' on the roast!), it was delicious so I did actually finish it all. The veg wasn't overcooked, which is often an issue with Sunday roasts. The meats (you get all 3 if you go large) were nicely cooked, and the Yorkshire puddings were clearly homemade from their differing shapes - none of that picture perfect out of a packet lark. The rest of the group had only compliments for their own food, and the sticky toffee pudding is particularly recommended as a dessert. The overall atmosphere was pleasant, warm, and comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and tidy. If we're in the area again, we'd certainly know where to stop for food.

Nice little pub, great lunch offer at the time of writing with 2 courses for ÂŁ12. We went for the full menu, which is still reasonably priced and good food. Looking at others on the deal, the roast in particular looked great. Quick and friendly service, definitely worth a visit. Oh and the Rollo cheesecake is amazing!

Tremendous Monday lunch, with Mrs B. Fairly quiet yes, staff all seemed happy and very polite, explaining the options on the menu today. The value for money was excellent as we both had a starter and a main. The quality and speed of service was spot on! Obviously freshly cooked, no overcooked veg, beautiful beef with almost no fat, roasted potatoes were piping hot and quite a charismatic eatery. The only downside was the 90 mile journey home, would definitely return if back in the area. If you live nearby and haven’t tried it, you’re missing out, such a friendly bunch of staff and quality food. Thank you all 🏆👍 Even included clean toilets pics

Fantastic meals with good options on the menu and good prices. Somewhere you can eat regularly. We had the 2 course deal, and the portions were huge. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is a car parking area and suitable access for a wheelchair. I will definitely be back.

Easy to get to. On the main road Hilderstone Road (not far from Moddershall Oaks, see my reviews). Easy parking, but doesn't seem a huge car park. Lovely building and restaurant. Clean, neat and tidy. Staff very friendly. Malaysia chicken skewers was nice. Sauce was more like a standard curry sauce. Chips were tasty. Can have half chips and half rice.. great idea!! Gammon and chips. Nice, just standard as expected. Nice restaurant would recommend. Standard sort of pub food and reasonable prices.

This is a very favourite place of ours, the food is always good. Its a beautiful restaurant with lovely garden and colourful hanging baskets. The atmosphere inside is lovely perfect for any special occasion. The staff are polite and friendly. Our last visit was quite a wait for our meal to arrive, but it was well worth it. They have special nights, Tuesdays is pie night, several different types to choose from, including a vegetarian option, look out for their other special nights. Menu is extensive. More than worth a visit. We had another visit this week, everything was perfect as before. However we went for pie night and the pies had changed. The steak pie had bacon in which we didnt want, so didnt have it this time. Also the chicken was chicken and leek before and now it is chicken and mushroom made with cream. I loved the chicken and leek but with cream it is too rich and didn't like the mushrooms they are slimy, prefer chestnut mushrooms. I think they have tried to upgrade it a bit but it wasnt necessary. We will come again but probably not for pie night, which is a shame. They have a new Manager Phil, who does a brilliant job, professional and efficient we had seem him working before elsewhere, the Black Lake Inn is very lucky to have him.

Great service. The servers are very warm and welcoming. The food came out well prepared, looked great and tasted even better. High quality ingredients combined with a nice atmosphere, and good service makes this restaurant a place to visit. Visited around 4pm so it was nice and quiet but does get busy during lunch and dinner time. They have a few promos for a few nights of the week. We ordered the spotted "Richard," sticky date pudding, sirloin steak, New York steak, lamb shank, and the fish pie. All were delicious as o tried them all. Enjoy all!!!
