Just had a lovely home cooked pie in this welcoming pub, complemented with a nice ale (or two). All the staff are amazingly friendly, offering advice and answering questions. We had two complimentary dishes from the chef who came out to chat to us. Lots of locals having meetings and keeping the place busy. Clearly a great community and this pub a central part of it.

Called in on Saturday and had a lovely blue cheese burger, chips and coleslaw. The food was very good and the owners always make you feel welcome, with a good range of ales, cider and larger. The pub was quiet but near to closing time. We have had a Sunday lunch here before and that was also good, but it is very busy on Sunday so do book in advance.

We recently had a week on a canal boat from the Ashby Boat Company (also very highly recommended) and had an evening meal out in Stoke Golding. Pub was busy with a nice atmosphere. All 6 of us had excellent meals. The landlord, landlady and all the staff were very friendly and welcoming and if you like unusual desserts you are in for a treat! When they overheard that it was my wife's birthday, they surprised us with a free glass of prosecco for her. After our meal the chef came out and asked us how our food was (how often do you get that in a pub?) and whether we would like to try some complimentary home made ice-creams he had created. They were so good that we all ended up paying for an extra dessert on top (and 5 of us don't have a sweet tooth!) The port and stilton ice cream was divine! (Move over Hestor!!) And to top it off, the bill was very reasonable. All in all an extremely good evening and highly recommended.

My visit went well the hostelry was clean tidy and very well presented toilet clean and tidy. Meal I had was well worth the money not expensive. Real ale " Everard tiger" went down well a true quaffing beer. I recommend this establishment. Mike Wright.

Food very good, pub interior comfortable & welcoming. Service slow BUT only one member of staff for bar duties, taking orders & helping bringing food out. Perhaps more staff? I should add that the member of staff was very pleasent and helpful. Slight blight, loud local builder who bored us to death with his extensive knowledge of bricks.....yawn!!!

Well, firstly the ale is excellent and secondly the ale is excellent and thirdly ... you get the gist. Only visited the snug and as pubs go the Swan is a typical country village type pub after the "austere school". No muzak, no slots, no extras. It is a pub for drinking with good friends and even better conversation. Landlady very businesslike and "Time" means "Time". "Kitchen closed" meant "no food", only crisps. Obviously cannot comment on food, or the other bar, or loos, or garden. Not the biggest car park in the world. However, if your hobby is "collecting" pubs and you don't live in Stoke Golding then why not drop in for a drink? And, if you are local then you may share my opinion anyway.
