My first visit yesterday to this pub, and it will now become a regular one as we only live in Paignton, it's a very welcoming place, I went with family and friends as a group of 9, the service was very good and the food excellent!... a great choice on the menu, very reasonably priced and generous portions too!... we were lucky enough to sit next to the old fireplace with log burner which was perfect!.... it really is a little gem! A good old fashioned, traditional pub with charm and character. ☆☆☆☆☆

My husband and I visited this wee treasure of a pub yesterday. The staff and locals were extremely friendly and we will definitely be back! Well worth a visit.

Love this place. Great atmosphere, and you'll get no grief from the Mummified Cat. The Chilli Con Carne was delicious - as was the guest beer. Donna was very welcoming and tolerant of my eccentric sense of humour!

My family have been going here 2 or 3 times a year for nearly 20 years, it hasn't changed much and that's perfect, if a pubs that good why would you change it, the foods always been perfect and the beers are varied and well kept, we especially like the Sunday Night quiz.

Fabulous unspoilt country pub in back of beyond Devon village Stoke Gabriel. Tons of character and old style furniture. Horse brasses abound and loved the mummified cat. The Jail Ale and the bar service was tip top.

Great little country pub which must be hundreds of years old in a really nice village. Full of character and charm. Good beer and cider and the food was excellent. All freshly cooked and very good portion sizes as well. If I visit Devon again will certainly visit. Lovely walk along country lanes from Whitehills Country Park where we were staying to this pub. A great walk in itself but with the pub waiting it made it all the nicer. Could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

Just had dinner in this authentic Devon pub , the food it's great, we had the chicken pie , the gammons and the backed potato ... I really recommend to you all to come and dine here on your visit in Devon and of course enjoy a few drinks too ☺️... Service was excellent , I definitely recommend to book a table because it's a popular place with limited sitting.

Called on the off chance on our way home after a few days in Kingswear. It was Father's day and managed to get a table. Staff really friendly and food was delicious, portions were very generous. Looking forward to a return visit when staying in Stoke Gabriel in September.
