Barnacles - Stockton-on-Tees - Photo album

I enjoyed my first ever lunch here today (Good Friday). It was busy when we sat down but waited nothing more than 6 minutes. We ordered the Fisherman's Feast, plenty for the two of us. Platter included 1 cod, 1 haddock, 5 scampi, salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber & onion), slice of lemon, on a bed
Great spread after my hankering for real fish n chips!
A great place for fish N Chips, Located in the right place and plenty of room in the cafe side, staff were on hand to offer service with a smile, great prices and great service.
Fish was overcooked (maybe from frozen) so batter was hard chips and peas were fine
The Battered Burger in a bun was juicy, loved the burgers.. The Chips were?.. Meh! Not the best, but weren't bad either, just the way they fry them i guess. The Apple Crumble wasn't very nice though, apples weren't cooked through and we're solid, the crumble mix was still too floury, not properly m
Had a lovely meal in there tonight with my son and daughter the staff were so lovely and service was spot on . One of my favourite fish shops .
Fish and chips very nice thank you will come again 🙂
It was a good experience when we went to barnacles at Stockton. The staff where good and asked us if everything was alright we had an issue but the lady corrected it straight away. The fish and chips where freshly done and the price very reasonable we will be visiting here once again. I thank barnac
Arrived late , restaurant about to close but we were very kindly allowed to be seated. Very friendly helpful staff member . Food ( cod, chips mushy peas) was as delicious as we expected. Highly recommend for value , a great pot of tea too!
Eaten here half a dozen times, last time three weeks ago, before that on Covid "eat out to help out" half price deal. With my local mam, I live down south. Fish always freshly fried, lightly battered, lots of firm white meat. Chips could be a bit more crisp, they tend to be on the soggy "take-away"
I came here the other day for the first time as I was in the mood for fish and chips. I normally go to Bennett's but they were closed for some reason. I ended up ordering my food, it was the middle of the day but I was the only one in there. Service was really friendly and attentive throughout.
Clean and tidy, staff are pleasant and friendly. Shoppers special is a decent price and cooked lovely. Would have given 5 stars if it was a bit warmer in the restaurant, but that could have been down to the cold weather.
The fish here is quite good and so is the Scampi. The onion rings I would give a miss though. If you are going with 2 people or more, it is better and cheaper to get one of the platters than actually buy individual meals. The staff won't tell you this obviously but I thought I would let everyone
