This is already a very popular pub. It's very well run and has some of the JW Lee's cask range on sale. The quality of this beer range worries me slightly at time of visit one pump clip was turned around & the mpb was not at it's best.
The bitter was fine but not first time beer options variable!
That aside the bar is well stocked & very busy.
I have to say that the staff work really hard & in particular one of the bar staff was so helpful when I visited with a friend in a wheelchair, an absolute credit to the business & thank you.
Not been since the refurbishment and went for Sunday Lunch with both sets of parents. We all enjoyed the meal. Service was excellent. Agreed that we go back soon.
Came in today for my Dads 82nd Birthday.

Cheesecake,Coffee and Creme brulee went down very well too.

Friendly staff even though they were busy. Food good, ordered gyoza and sea bass on fixed price menu. Informed that because we were sat outside and they were busy that we would get starter and main at same time. Disappointed at first, but it worked out OK.
Food tasty and well cooked.
Would recommend and will visit again.

After a few unexpected 'hiccups' with our booking and being a tad caught out with our seating arrangements on the day we weren't too sure how are wedding meal would go.
Oh my word our expectations were surpassed and some. All of the staff were super helpful and friendly from us walking in, checking we had everything we needed and if they could do anything else for us and even offering to help with the room dressing. Our main waitress was something else. Her hospitality skills were second to none. There was 26 adults plus 4 children in our group and she was constantly checking that everyone was alright and if we needed anything, I was exhausted for her! The preordered food was served swiftly and effeciently by lots of staff.
If it wasn't for the fact we now live in Scotland we wouldn't hesitate to return here. We highly recommend The Elizabethan. We eloped last month and unfortunately I had a serious accident whilst away too, so our wedding meal with family and friends was very important to everyone and we are so grateful to all the staff who helped to make our meal really special not only for us but for all our friends and family as well.
Nice pub. Friendly staff. Lovely outdoor seating area with brollies. Food was nice and has vegan options available for mains, starters and puds.
A pleasant enough place with quite a nice front beer garden
We got a table for Father's Day, even though it was busy, the staff were very cheerful and happy. Our waitress was brilliant (dark hair with a couple of wisps at the side) and looked after us brilliantly.
Nice touch with a free glass and a beer voucher too!
Fantastic pub lunch with a generous, delicious portion of fish and chips! I went for the "Northern Upgrade" which is a lovely curry sauce and some bread and butter for an extra quid! Bargain.
No beer for me as I was driving but I had a lovely cup of tea, and definitely will have a beer next time I visit ☺️👍🏻
Not been the Elizabehan for years,I had The large fish and chips, it was huge,I couldn't finish it all which is not like me at all. The service was fantastic and very attentive I recommend it.
Its a lovely place really caring staff you get a lovely refreshing pint lovely place for family friends to go to. There was 6 of us we only had a drink this time.
Wow food absolutely the best I've had in a long time travelling from Scotland to see family for 2 days wow loved it had the barnsley chop ...even sucked th marrow
