Came across this pub by chance on a cycle back from the National Trust site at Lyme. Was very pleased to see bike racks outside, very handy!

A great pub. Rescued from being a fading old pub to become one of Stockport's premier ale houses. The ever changing self-brewed and guest beers are consistently good and are give equal prominence. No children allowed - and they've lost trade from me and my family for this - though to be honest they probably wouldn't like it anyway.

This is one of my favourite pubs in Stockport. The bar staff are always friendly and there is a wide range of beers. Beer garden is perfect for warm days. Best of all never seen any children in there-bliss!

Great selection of beers including their own micro brewery beer fool hardy. Two rooms. Go left at the entrance there are seats and a small games room. Go right at the entrance for a normal seating area. Good warm atmosphere.

A microbrewery is on site brewing Fool Hardy beers. Never too busy as pubs go but a good selection of Fool Hardy beers are generally on draught at very reasonable prices. A couple of guest ales should be available. Friendly bar staff and a place to go to drink a decent pint and indulge in conversation. Well worth the walk from the centre of Stockport.

Nice friendly pub with quiet atmosphere. The fool hardy beer they brew is packed with flavour and there's one for every type of real ale drinker. There's even a pool table which is becoming rater these days in small pubs.

Excellent range of beers, both their own and other brewers. Not as mad-busy as the Magnet down the road but easily as good quality-wise. Do yourself a favour and visit.

Huge selection of tap and bottle beers. They've got a authentic pinball machine, a football table and a retro arcade machine. With outdoor seating round the back, this micro brewery/pub is a gem in Stockport

Beautiful little brew pub concentrating on its own ales with a couple of well sourced guests. Very comfy surroundings and friendly welcome. I highly recommend.

Wide range of ales. Some from their own micro brewery fool hardy's. Two rooms. As you enter, if you turn left the room has music with a pool table, dart board, quiz machine and football table. If you turn right as you enter, it is a quieter room with plenty of seats. And where the main bar is.

A quiet place to enjoy a great selection of their own brews and a very full bottle menu. Pork pies and friendly staff. My favourite pub in Stockport.

It is a "real" and comfortable Public House and the Beers brewed on the premises are all excellent and we'll served. Most importantly, my wife feels comfortable there. Peter Bradley

Multi-beer freehouse with in-house brewery (located in the cellar) that produces half of the beers you will see here on the bar. Brewery is Fool Hardy. A well-run establishment, offering choice, comfort, and great value.

It's all downhill from this place. Literally, as it's a bracing walk up from the station! Very pleasant place on a Saturday afternoon. Has Its own microbrewery and a good selection of cold ones, Inc. @outstandingbeer White.
