Absolutely love Baekdu!
I can't come as often I'd like as it's a little bit on the pricier side but when I am wanting to celebrate then I'll always think of Baekdu for those occasions.
My favourite dishes are the mackerel, pickled wild garlic and the seafood pancake. Everything is delicious though and is such a gem in Stockport.
Used to visit when they were in the city centre many years ago and it's nice to support a business that's still serving tasty Korean food!
We stumbled into here without expecting much. The BBQ was excellent. We also ordered some noodles & soup dishes which were delicious. My only qualm with this restaurant is that they won't let you eat there unless you order the BBQ, even though the other non-BBQ main dishes are just as expensive. We particularly enjoyed the noodle dish, so this will definitely put us off coming here in the future. I think it is a strange business decision to be so inflexible with their menu.
The food here is genuine, delicious and prepared directly on the table, service is amazing and accommodating and staff are wonderful. Highly recommend
The food was fantastic, and had a decent selection of soju.
Not our first bbq, but we asked for some recommended dishes and went ahead with those. The menu was a little limited for bbq options, but the quality was superb, and the recommendations outside of bbq options were superb.
We weren't asked if we needed help, but we were helped regardless (might be a newcomer thing), and the staff were very attentive, friendly, and helpful.
Will definitely be back!
This is a real hidden gem. Don't be put off by the interior decor, which is a little dated, because it's all about the food here! Everything is super tasty with the theatre of the table BBQ. It really is one of the best restaurants in the area. I'd definitely recommend ordering one meat dish each. There were four to a table and we each had a different dish, which allowed each of us enough meat per dish for us to try each. Order a lettuce and salad dish each, which should be enough. Also a must, the chicken side dish, which comes in a gorgeous sticky sauce. We had an amazing time and I thoroughly recommend this place 👌
Korean restaurant that felt very authentic. We ordered the bbq and that was quite nice.
The staff cooks the bbq for you so you dont need to worry about that but if you prefer to do it yourself, I'm sure that wouldve been fine too.
The short ribs were nice but a bit pricey. Portion sizes were decent. we ordered 2 meats, a starter andrice between 2 of us.
Warning: There will be ALOT of smoke, so i wouldn't advise you wearing your best outfits.

The best dinner we had in a while! The food was delicious, the staff was soooo nice and even though its not a new building, it gave character to the experience. We are definitely going back and you should try it also.
Very nice experience with the Korean BBQ and side dishes. Beef and pork both very tender and tasty. Highly recommended. Absolutely need to try beef with bone and sweet and sour chicken!!!
Lovely Korean BBQ. The bbq was ok, the sides were really the highlight of the experience for us.
Authentic Korean food and great place for Korean barbecue. We were told we had to order minimum 4 dishes for the barbecue even though it said 2 dishes on the poster. Food was tasty but it was on the pricier side.
Had heard good things about Baekdu so I decided to try it for myself while I was in Stockport. We didn't book a table but we arrived as they opened and it wasn't very busy so getting a table for 2 was easy.
We were surprised to see that you could only dine in if you ordered BBQ which we were going to anyway, but seemed a shame that they have that limitation. We would have liked to try other dishes on the menu but because you have to get enough BBQ for 2 people we thought that would be too much food.
The BBQ itself was delicious, we ordered a mix of beef, chicken and pork as well as the mixed salad and seafood pancake. It's also the first KBBQ restaurant I've been to where the servers will cook everything for you, though you can tell them you'd like to do it yourself.
Would probably come back but with a larger group so we can try more dishes!
Came here last weekend and had a great time! Staff checked our temperature before showing us to our table. The staff were very helpful when ordering, as we'd never been before we needed a little help. We were then brought our hot charcoal that went in the BBQ in the middle of the table. The food comes in any random order (I assume when it's ready) which we were more than happy with. We ordered four different meats for our BBQ which were brought out one at a time once we'd finished the previous meat. The staff cooked the meat on the BBQ for us to excellent standard. It felt like a very personal experience. The food was absolutely delicious! The meat was incredible and the side dishes were to die for. Everything went so well together and was cooked to perfection. Even the side salad that goes with the meat is yummy, I could've eaten a whole bowl of it! I absolutely loved my experience at Baekdu and I'm already planning my next visit, highly recommend! 🇰🇷❤️
A real hidden gem. The beef was so well seasoned and delicious, the other meats we had were fantastic.
Between 3 of us we had 5 different table BBQ dishes. We were recommended to get the salad, I was dubious as it is lettuce, however the pickled dish that comes with it was a pleasant surprise and a great compliment to the BBQ.
We also ordered a lot of sides - the vermicelli was a good choice and the dumplings.
I would say you may need one BBQ dish per head if you are hungry, but if you order a few and share them about it is perfect.
We were just super hungry, greedy and excited to be out of lockdown!
The staff are polite and helpful and who knew Korean beer was so good.
I can't wait to return.
Excellent quality food. Lovely service. Fun night out. They stick hot coals in the middle of the table then BBQ the meat for you right there. Good prices. Will definitely go back as I really enjoyed it. They don't fill you up on bread like other restaurants do. I found that you do need to order a few dishes to have a full meal but that way you get to try a bunch of different things. It does get a bit hot in there generally but they have extractors above each coal pit to extract the smoke, so you don't come away smelling like a BBQ.
Its a lovely little restaurant off the main road in Stockport. Looking at the menu it isn't obvious how or what to order for the BBQ I would say. You have to order the meat and salad separately but you dont get a lot of salad. It is also on the expensive side for me for just BBQ but it's nice to treat yourself every once in a while.
The bibimbap was nice but the portion could be a bit bigger for the price. The portion of salmon was actually bigger than what we expected (from eating out in other restaurants you usually get a small portion for the price).
Overall it was a great experience and I enjoyed the personal BBQ stove. I would go again for a treat 👍
