Perfect afternoon tea, the staff are brilliant, accommodating & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very fresh. We asked for some salad dressing & the chef made some up for us. We both 100% recommended the Plaza for a chilled out afternoon tea.

This cafe is well talked about and very popular with the locals. It's a hidden gem of Stockport. If you like a Sunday afternoon tea this is the place. Lots of little cakes and good quality tea, the thing to have is the teared plates. But will set you back 15 per person. But well worth it. Little sandwiches. Nice. It's all art deco... so it makes you feel like you should dress up to visit!! Service is quite posh here. Love the 1930 feel.

Lovely. Not been for a couple of years. Pandemic etc. The afternoon tea was lovely as usual. Thanks. My Mum loved it.

Wonderful Art Deco cafe with good old-fashioned service. Accessible by mobility scooter but don't be surprised when the cosy lift opens sideways on the first floor! Food is good but how could they have run out of rarebit ?!

This was a return visit as we have eaten here on several times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff attentive and welcoming. On this occasion we booked a table (always advisable) for a friend's birthday lunch. The menu is varied with a good choice of both hot and cold items. The food freshly prepared and always worth the wait. When you visit make sure to leave room for dessert but making a decision is not easy ! 😉If you are looking for a venue for a special event or just fancy treating yourself, I highly recommend you pay them a visit. Thanks again to all staff for a fantastic afternoon and see you again soon x

My friend and I have been for afternoon tea. Thank you for the lovely food. My friend has to have a gluten free diet. The variety of food was excellent. My tea was excellent. Thank you to your chef and staff for making the afternoon so enjoyable. It was my friends birthday so it really made her day. Thank you again.

Beautifully kept place, full of character and clearly lovingly restored over the years. Staff were lovely, smartly dressed and polite. Really felt like you were being spoilt by being there. It was kinda decadent for a Wednesday afternoon, when we popped in to look around and have a drink and a cake. We look forward to going there again, maybe for a delightful but sedate celebration:)

Great service and friendly staff. Had afternoon tea. Tea and sandwiches were nice but didn't rate the small cakes. Would eat something else from the menu if I went again

Fabulous 1930s charm. I love this place. There is nowhere else quite like it; the cafe has been restored to it's 1920 original form with loving attention to detail by volunteers. Most of the staff here are volunteers so service can be a bit quirky at times - best to just go with it. As far as an afternoon tea goes, I've been here and I've been to Betty's in Harrogate. Betty's has the queues, The Plaza has the better afternoon tea.

My friend was visiting Stockport for the first time and I knew straightaway where to take her for lunch that was unique to our understated historic townThe plaza did not disappoint. We had a wonderful afternoon tea in the tasteful and quaint tearoom with the comforting sounds of pre-war music playing softly in the background. My friend was so impressed with my choice of venue. We bumped into acquaintances of mine who regaled her with Stockport’s fascinating history and then on leaving, recommended the roulade for our next visit. They dine here every Friday.I had my 40th here and it was brilliant. I don’t visit enough but will be doing more. The volunteers do an amazing job. We applaud you all.
