Great atmosphere, good beer, great food, Toby and the guys are doing a great job into turning this into a cracking pub! Those crispy duck skewers, damn they were good!

It was a quiet Sunday lunchtime and we called in on the off chance. Lovely pub, friendly landlord and team. It should have been busier but the weather was a bit drizzly. A great stopping place on the Test Way and it far from Mottisfont Abbey.

I love an old English pub. Walking along the test way then a red wine in front of the fire is just delightful!

Stopped in for lunch today. Interior looks cosy, outside had large covered area which was welcome on a sunny day but I think they could do more in terms of appearance. Having said that, we both ordered a "doorstop sandwich" and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lovely fresh ingredients, tasty and well presented. Definitely worth another visit.

Lovely little pub. Dog and walker friendly. The menu is simple but the food is excellent, staff are friendly and helpful. They also have doggy icecream which went down a treat with our two dogs. Well worth a stop in and perfect for lunch mid-walk.

Very friendly, good ales, wonderful roast. Not too gentrified, but just the right mix of locals, walkers, fishermen and tourists. A terrific pub.
