My first visit to the place, was met with a really friendly welcome by the staff I ordered the Burger meal and liked the idea of serving it with Nachos instead of chips which made a welcome change I thought the place itself a little quirky but altogether a really great experience would definitely go back next time I'm in Stirling and would recommend it.

Found this place on a 'dog friendly' google search. Lovely staff, varied and tasty food. I highly recommend this establishment and so does Genghis the Springer

Great music, yummy food, decent prices, awesome bartenders. Kinda cool to be sitting in a bar that’s over 300 years old....!

I was recently reminded of our visits to Scotland. We live in the U.S. and have been to Scotland several times. One of our favorite places. My wife's paternal grandmother was a Menzies, and we have visited the Menzies castle. We have been to Stirling twice, the last time about six years ago. After stopping the first time, we put Nicky Tams on our list of places we wanted to go to. If/when we return to Scotland, Nicky Tams again will be on my list. Great staff -- very welcoming and unexpectedly good food. (We did not stay overnight, so I cannot rate the rooms). Although, I must say that, after having an excellent visit, leaving is a bit of a downer.

Stopped in for lunch after seeing the castle. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and I love the character of this pub. Nice selection of beers, good food as well (not amazing, but I really enjoyed my lunch). I was alone this trip, I would definitely bring friends/family next time I'm in Stirling.

The best food we had during our 8 days in Scotland. Haggis was delicious, as well as the tomato soup and sticky toffee pudding. This is a pub with lots of local character, don´t be put off by the fact that it´s noisy downstairs, they have a quiet upstairs dining area. The live performance was really good. The singer even sang Never Let me Down again by Depeche Mode. I´ll definitely go there again if I´m in Stirling.

Fantastic food for relatively cheap price! We got two mains, a pint of beer and cider for €30 (which has been good compared to other places). Staff were so friendly and more than welcoming and the food was amazing!! And on a sunny day in Stirling - you can’t beat it! Would recommend.

Yay 😁 humins totally loved this wee but perfect pub. I got a bit of their haggis ciabatta and it was scrummy. Dog friendly, live music, piano ! excellent food, great beer, Harviestoun's Bitter & Twisted on tap was pure joy to my walk-weary English tourists 🐶

This is a lovely wee bar with great music. The food is really good too. The bar staff are really friendly and helpful and we had a ver nice time. We did not use the hotel facilities, just the bar and restaurant.

This unique pub brought a much needed relief after a long day at the Castle. The bartender was FANTASTIC! The food was great and filling. Best pint we've had in a long time. We can wait to come back.

In a brief trip to Stirling, I came here three times. Once at night, twice during the day. Nightime atmosphere was great, with live music. Food in the daytime was lovely. I wish I lived in Stirling so this would be my local.

Simply brilliant! Visited there for some food, yet besides that we got a very warm welcome, good music, great vibe as well... Of course the food was great too. I was recommended burgers by the staff member and I was not dissapointed. Rich, tasty and well priced. Overall an amazing experience. Definitely a place to stop by when visiting Stirling!

Great character filled pub in a really unusual historic building. Split over 2 floors with most of the tables/dining area upstairs. Very small bar area and not that much available on draft. But they do make good use of the space they have. Nice decor mix of traditional old Scottish and modern contemporary, with ornate original architecture combined with iconic vinyl record covers on the walls. It's one of the more unique pubs and definitely worth a visit if you're in Stirling.
