Very impressed with the food and service we received. One of the best places I have eaten and our waitress was friendly and the food I could not fault. Will be going back.
Welcoming, amazing food, imaginative menu, excellent service, will definitely come here again. The wild mushrooms on bruschetta starter is divine, worth a trip out for this alone.
Staff were very friendly. They Sung happy birthday to my friend and wrote happy birthday on her truffle plate in chocolate sauce. Food is amazing. Calamari to start, I had rump lamb off the specials and sticky toffee pudding. Also had discount on a bottle of prosseco as it was fizz Friday. This place is a must!! I will certainly go back.
My 7 year old and I dropped in for early dinner from the lunch menu today. Food was very tasty, very big portions, and well priced. :) :) Staff were really nice too, and it was lovely for my son to feel welcome in a 'grown-up' place. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Especially the ice cream! That was devine! X x
Superb Food (especially the roast dinner!) - In my top 10 restaurants for sure! Love the new decor too. It’s changed a lot since the days I used to work here.

The most AMAZING meal I've had in a long time! Really well looked after & the head chef Mike was fabulous!!! 1000% recommended! Can't wait to return. Our waitress couldn't do enough for us! Travelled from half an hour away and we will be back! Can't thank you enough for a great evening!!
Great, friendly staff with a unique menu. Quick starters and full meals. Wonderful outdoor eating area with plenty of indoor seating. Great music and very friendly staff. Food is delicious. Highly recommend sitting a spell and enjoying the views abs
The food was lovely I must admit. Portion sizes a bit on the smaller side for the price paid. But absolutely no complaints on the taste of the food.. the white horse burger is flame grilled and so juicy. Could of done with some more chips and maybe a side salad with it.. the smoked chicken wings are very tender and dipped in the garlic mayo make a great combo. Chicken bacon salad looked good and I was told it was very nice. Cod wrapped in possicuto looked lovely and I was again told that it was so nice.
All in all a lovely pub with a small carpark. I will return to try the homemade pie. 😋
Another great visit to the White Horse. They fitted us in on what had evidently been a very busy service. That said, the service we received was as charming and efficient as always. 🙂
I had the pie, my wife had the roast. Great food - Chef Dale’s pies are excellent! - and good sized servings too. No need for dinner that night!

My wife and I went for an early dinner at the pub, which was already heaving when we arrived at 17:30. There was a child’s birthday party going on in the lower section of the pub - at a guess it was a 7-year old’s party - and the pub cannot be held accountable for the racket and pandemonium which ensued. Modern parenting seems to consist of parents shouting at their offspring to stop pushing/fighting with/not sharing something with another child and then settling back to natter with other adults without dealing with whatever it was they were shouting at their child about. The steak we had was delicious, as was the dessert, and the Ghastly Ghoul bitter (4.2%) was an excellent pint. So was the third one. The staff are relentlessly cheerful and efficient, and overall the atmosphere was enjoyable - dogs barking, people laughing, no background music or TVs, even the shrieking kids sort of melted into the background eventually. It’s a nice social pub with an excellent menu and nice, pleasant bar staff.
Excellent choice of food served all afternoon into the evenunlike a lot of places midweek. They offer various portion sizes. All 5 of our meals were excellent and reasonably priced. It's a Greene King pub, but the menu is the pub's own, food was not mass-produced and reheated. The service was lovely, the pub was comfortable with subtle music and loos were nice and clean. Will definitely go there again.
We have had a great lunch in the Bar area, dispite many other guests we got a good table with very comfortable chairs, the menue was very good, the waitresses were very friendly and helpful, my husband and our guests were delighted and we will come definitely again.
Always good atmosphere, great service and friendly staff. Tasty food and a wide range of drink selection. Coctail offer of 2 for £12.
Love the tall round tables by the bar.
Nice evening meal after work with afew drinks, nice food, decent service, the place was very busy which made for a nice atmosphere.

Very busy sunny Sunday but still very happy to accommodate a coeliac. My chicken and avocado burger was the best I've had for a while!

Was pleasantly surprised by the quality and price for Steyning. The decor inside is very nice. We had a lunch & would happily return for an evening meal.
Lovely food and staff. Often very busy so can be a little bit of a wait for table/service - but definitely worth it.
Great food, good service and excellent value for money. Their Sunday roast is outstanding.
