WOW WOW WOW WOW What more to say??An amazing place to eat in or if you busy to take out. Food is just delicious and customer service is 5 star. Nothing is to much for them and the best thing is you do feel like you are at home. A MUST :)

We had a lovely evening at Chez Joel last night for my 40th birthday. What a treat! Sarah was an excellent hostess and all 4 of us loved everything that was put in front of us.

We visited for the first time today and had the full breakfast which included tea/coffee. The two ladies working were really lovely and the food was locally sourced . The sausage was excellent and piping hot (bonus as its a pet peeve to get warm food). You can buy local products including jams chutneys and cheeses. Very quant and they also do three evenings openings with a 2 or 3 course french menu. Breakfast was £9.95 and I took a piece of cherry malibu cake home.

A lovely and quiet little eatery in the heart of Steyning. Well worth a look especially when the crayfish sandwiches are freshly made....go !

The food was exceptional!! this is a wonderful little gem of a place. The host was so friendly and helpful, even with our limited French.. It was just like being in france! The escargot - delicious, the wine fantastic.. They even got our favourite cheese in! All set in the quaint village of Steyning. Just perfect, can't wait to go back. And we live an hr away!! 10/10

Perfect with some added drops of kindness! We ate there this evening. I wanted to write a review straight away as we were so impressed. To start, the owners are just wonderful, Sarah is kind and attentive she gives time to you, making sure you know about each dish and their wine variety. The food is divine and so perfectly cooked. They gave us dessert to take home as an extra. Thank you so much.We will be taking the rest of our family next time. :) Sorry no photos taken as we were enjoying the expereicne so much!

A little after lunch period on a quiet Friday I found myself tempted by the display of salads & meets, the lady manager explained that they normally close at two & this was 20 past ish but kindly made us both up two very tasty baguettes for us to take away, we had previously purchased two bottles & she kindly lent us a bottle opener which we promised to return later on the same day, perhaps through the letterbox , I sort of forgot the little friendly village shop of my youth & how it all works, great experience will return one Saturday evening , jk. Ps... As promised a year later I returned to the little village bistro for an evening meal with a lady, well spaced out table for two by the window excellent small menu perfect, great atmosphere superb food / no rush table for the night, just about managed to share a desert, great experience ...Kenny xoxo.

This is my favourite cafe in Steyning. It serves high quality food. The place has a French feel with delicious pastries but it also serves English breakfasts among plenty of other options. It has a deli and does takeaway sandwiches and baguettes. All very nice.

Nice French styled bistro restaurant now open Thursday to Saturday evenings. Had a good vegetarian platter for lunch and was well looked after by the lady in charge. Will aim to visit in the evening as recommended by her to sample the veggie option before long.

I am amending my review. Mid last year I had a poor experience in Chez Joel, poor service with a frosty atmosphere and left without purchasing having been ignored. I am happy to say that there has been a 100% change, whilst passing this morning I popped in as the smell emanating from Chez Joel compelled me to enter. Inside I found the warm welcome and eagerness to help, I purchased a sausage roll still hot from the oven. I have to say that it is the best sausage roll I have had in years. I am so glad I decided to wait until I was on my way home to get one, other wise I would have purchased one Truffles and they are nowhere near as good as the one I had from Chez Joel. I can't wait till Monday when I will be again passing by.

All food is of a high standard. And plenty of teas to choose from. Staff always going beyond to help out. Tried many restaurants/deli bistros. In many years. Now me and the wife are hooked on this little treasure. Why eat anywhere else. 5 star all round. And if anyone has to wait. Then really great food is worth waiting just a little longer.

Nice food, lovely staff, well worth a visit if in Steyning, not as busy and rushed as other cafes in the area on the day of visit, all good.

I love this place! Sarah, the owner, runs it as a proper French bistro - no fancy frills, just AMAZING food. This is worth a trip out - but remember to book as it is a tiny venue and does get very busy.

Absolutely quality tackle, one of the best burgers I’ve tasted in yonks, proper Chinsman gear, the sauce on the burger tasted like it was squeezed from the breast of a Greek goddess. would recommend to any Punter within the Leeds vicinity, I challenge anyone to get a better burger n chips for a 5 sheet, will deffo return.

Always have a great experience at Chez Joel. The cuisine is of a high standard because you're not swamped with excessive choices. Menu choices of a moderate size but that guarantees each dish to be cooked especially for the patron. Something for everyone. If you want a small, intimate restaurant with personal attention, Chez Joel is for you.

Wow. We had the Cream Tea. The scones were fabulous best I have had in years. Excellent French feeling Tea Shop that becomes a Bistro of an evening. Definitely will be visiting again.

Love the place! Food is fabulous, service is good. Staff are friendly and attentive. I felt like I was in France but 20 years ago with those (very modest) prices! Will be coming here again and again!! 😀
