A wee hidden gem food cooked fresh staff are very friendly even if you need to change something on the menu they are happy to help
Lovely home-made food. Even the chips were hand cut and cooked from fresh. I had crispy chicken tempura from the specials menu and it was scrummy! As for the mint choc chip cheesecake, after the first taste I could feel the frisson of delight through my body. Brilliant service too.

We had a great dinner in here last night. Food delicious. Exceptional value for money in a really nice setting. Staff were great. We'll be back soon. Especially if you live in 3 towns, give the Champion Shell in a visit, you won't regret it.
Another year spent in here for a big xmas dinner with family and friends. Food is great along with the service. (Love the homemade chips). Back again next year and some visits in between.
Lovely bar staff and the food is always first class. The chef will go out his way to accommodate your preferred food. Even if it's not on the varied menu. Highly recommend

The service was excellent, couldn't fault it. We shared the nacho starter which was amazing. I then chose the Lasagne, it came with a delicious coleslaw and really tasty chips. Just love the place. Food is fresh, home made and delicious. Great choice. Staff are lovely. Decor has been the same for about 30 years. Makes me feel right at home
First time in a long while since been at Champion shell. Bar and lounge area nice. Meal wad ok pate & oatcakes to start - generous, steak pie & chips to follow steak couldn't be faulted pastry just crumbled( defrosted?) looking at it and chips not great. Service couldn't be faulted pleasant helpfu

Great pub, clean, well presented and maintained.
The food is more traditional British fare and portions are generous.
The atmosphere is also great if you're just out for a few drinks.
