Good clean well looked after pub huge and well fitted building reasonably good beers 🍻
Nice big beer garden decent size and lovely outside seating area
Didn't eat staff really friendly and helpful and locals very friendly.
Will be back again.
Amazing new look and feel. Lewis and Katie are doing amazingly, such a lovely, friendly couple.
Looking forward to spending many more evenings there. Keep it up guys!
Charlton in tour great place for a meet up before the game
Great pub, rebuilt, reimagined as a good place to go for young and old alike
Came in before and after the football for a cheeky pint. Always a warm welcome and had a decent DJ on which created a great atmosphere after the game.
I came across this pub as an away fan looking for a swift pint before a game against Stevenage. Its a good size and away fans were welcome.
You can buy a two pint beer if you fancy it, which considering the large queue wouldn't be a bad idea.
This brings me on to my only criticism, the pub must have known it would be busy for a local Derby but only put two bar staff on... who did a great job so thank you.
What a gem of a pub! As an Oldham Athletic supporter, we were welcomed into Our Mutual Friend alongside the local Stevenage FC fans. There was friendly banter and even a 'chant off'. The pub is big, clean and pleasant, with a pool table, beer garden and ridiculously cheap drinks! If we're lucky enough to travel to Stevenage again, we would absolutely make sure to pop in for a pint! Thanks to the regulars and hosts for adding to a great afternoon.
Was good to meet up with old friends.
England playing USA in tv’s dotted around.
Pleasant surroundings with polite bar staff.
Lovely renovations…New looks 🥂 🍻🍺🥃
Fantastic selection of craft beers at this venue. Pool table and darts here too. The area is very dated. And while it has a pub garden to stand outside it is just concrete
But if you like real ales then this is the pub to go to in Stevenage as there is such a large selection that changes all the time. Definitely will go going again.
Great little pub. Clean lager great prices. Friendly staff as well.
Different but good different... As real ale drinkers my husband and I were shocked when we walked in after the refurbishment. There was only one ale and the pub was more open-plan. But... When we asked about real ales we were told that Jack, the landlord, was requesting more barrels and there will be a larger selection in future. Good news :-) Yes, it's different (and I do miss the cozy lounge bar) but I'm still glad to have a pub down the road that's surviving the turbulent times and I'm willing to give it a chance. All the staff were exceedingly welcoming and we had a fabulous night. We will definitely go again. I look forward to seeing how the pub develops after its makeover.
After a drastic refurbishment the pub is now busier than ever. I seem to be reading a lot of negativity from the real ale community about the pub losing its character etc . What these people don't realize is that without the changes that have been made it is very unlikely that the pub would even be open in 12 months time. I'm not just some customer who doesn't know what they're talking about, I have worked in this pub for seven years and believe me, these changes are a good thing
nicer local real ale pub. Oldie worldie is probably best description, but in that it feels much more like a pub! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere and if you're a real ale drinker, you won't have a problem for choice!
Really nice that they keep the real ales in a cellar and not cold like the lager.
