Ordered a few times now, and will be ordering solely from here from now on. From ordering easily online, quick delivery, food always hot, really good flavours and had an additional complimentary dish sent with the order on the house. Definitely would highly recommend 👌
Surma is my favourite Indian take-away in Stevenage. I have been using it on and off for years. The food is very good with very generous portions at an affordable price.
The place itself is very small with just enough room to wait for your order but it is pleasant and fine as a take away location.
You can order online and collect or have delivered.
This is the only place in the area you should be heading to for your Indian takeaway! Award winning food because it tastes so good. I've eaten most of the menu and everything is great. Recommend Rosuni mushrooms.
I think the best Indian food in Stevenage. The chefs specials are superb.
I have only collected - the food has always been on time, correct and not.
Depending on the time and day, the parking in Old Town can be ridiculously difficult (e.g imagine driving around for 10 minutes to find a space).
I don’t understand the comment about all dishes being the same - very far from it. I would always go for Surma in spite of the parking shortages.

Have been using Surma for many years now. The food is consistently amazing with a lot of choice. Side dishes are prepared with as much care and attention as the award winning main dishes. I’ve never had a bad experience with this takeaway and feel confident this will continue long into the future. Don’t order from anywhere else if you’re looking for a great Indian takeaway.
I wanted to take my time with this review, just like I wanted to take my time with the food that they prepared. There are differing reviews for the restaurant but I can only base mine on what I found. Firstly, the people are fantastic and very polite. I had ordered a meal for the family but needed to rush out on a family emergency. I phoned the restaurant to cancel the order at short notice and there was no problem. However after things had calmed down I phoned to see if it was possible to fulfill the order and, again, there was absolutely no problem at all. When the food was delivered it was by a man in a shirt and tie for Pete's sake. Any restaurant that puts in so much effort deserves to be successful! The food looked and tasted absolutely amazing. The Pharll was as hot as promised and the flavors of the remaining dishes were fantastic! Both my wife and I are very fussy about who prepares food for us but we will definitely be ordering from them again!

Oli Kahn and his staff are great guys, making fresh delicious food consistently. Having been invited behind the scenes numerous times, I can safely say it’s nice and clean. Highly recommend this takeaway.

Absolutely Amazing food. 10/10 every time. Even on busy Saturday evenings the food turns up piping hot. Never ever had a bad meal as long as I’ve been ordering from here!!!
Have been using the Surma for a while now as consistently good , love the dhansak my wife loves the Kimg Prawn delight , like the 10% off collection as easy for us . Best curry along tha old town . Thoroughly recommend
