Just stopped by on our way home from longleat and had a really lovely meal - compliments to the chef and all the staff who were very polite and friendly. They had two groups of ten in but still managed to squeeze us in so we could make our journey home before getting too late with our little one. Thanks again for the home cooked food and hospitality :)
My daughter held her wedding reception here a couple of days ago, we had a fabulous time, all the staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was lovely, they catered for our gluten free diets brilliantly. The setting is very pretty, it was a perfect day..

Amazing restaurant, fab food and great staff X
Arrive hungry, leave extremely full and happy! Great food and friendly service, will definitely visit again if in the area. The ploughmans was huge, with a wonderful homemade bread, delicious coleslaw and potato salad. Prawn salad was delicious especially with the unexpected fruit (strawberry, blueberry, blackberries and pomegranate). Very reasonable prices!
Bumbled across this place by accident and absolutely delighted. Lovely family-run place, all food prepared in-house and lovely salads. So friendly and great views. Highly recommended!
The service is amazing. The prawns in the salad were a wonderful treat.
Loved the Stilton cheese burger. Had to get a lesson on Stilon.
Our burger came with chips, onion rings, and coleslaw.
Getting here was the biggest challenge because it is so hidden. But well worth it.
An absolutely gem of a place. The food was so good. Never had a salad with a Blueberry, Strawberry, Grape, Raspberry, Pomegranate. Sounds weird but it was so refreshing. Served with Breaded Brie; Prawn Cocktail and Whitebait. The Chicken and Pork roast was fab. (Hubby was very happy with the crackling). Best roast potatoes I've had for a very long time. Oniy criticism was that the Yorkshire pudding lost its crispiness by being covered with the gravy. Unfortunately we had to depart before sampling a pudding (but they looked good). All staff friendly and made you feel welcome. Certainly a place to go back to.
We came here to eat out-of-season, so it was relatively quiet, but we were pleasantly welcomed by the hostess. The food is really nice.
Unfortunately I didn't have food but looked good on other tables.
The staff were amazing. Very friendly. Felt comfortable. Amazing views. Would definitely recommend if in the area or passing by.
Very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the food. They add a twist to classic pub dishes. I had a fish finger sandwich which had a hint of rosemary in the batter and the salad included blackberries and pomegranate. The Brie ploughman’s was equally creative and delicious.
Great place for a good meal and very close to Stonehenge. Gary and the staff were great and we parked our vans right above the inn with a great view of the hillside and lake.
Recently stopped here for a meal with family after seeing the sign on the main road for years. It is a little hidden away and they could probably do with a better sign to attract more customers. This pub must have once been very successful- it has a lovely layout, great views, nice bar, and an attractive eating area with views. The owner? / manager was so friendly and accommodating, very willing to help with meal requirements and flexible with regard to menu. He was only to happy to help create a wonderful vegan meal which is a rare thing in these parts. However.... there are some negatives- the main one being a lack of cleanliness. I see a couple reviews describe the place as "dated". I honestly do not mind that. I like that all pubs/restaurants don't have the same refurbished contemporary look but they all do need to be clean and this one isn't. I think that staff shortages and perhaps some financial struggles prevent them from doing more about it but it really does need a team to give it a thorough cleaning and tidy. We were concerned before entering due to the very dirty and cobweb-covered door. Inside there were cobwebs on the lampshades, some bits of rubbish on the floor and a general air of grubbiness. Inside and out. I do hope these people can sort out the problem as it will no doubt be putting off potential customers from this otherwise nice pub, great people, which this area needs badly.
Stunning food and beautiful location. Don't be deceived, as it does look a little dated, but the food was amazing and the staff were friendly. It's on our way to somewhere else, so not local to me, but it's certainly somewhere I would travel an hour for.
