Have been visiting the Black Pig for the past 14 years as my wife worked there many years ago! I have never seen such a great atmosphere in this pub and by all accounts it had its life and soul back again. The food was fantastic (best pie I've had and I like a pie!), good beer and very kind and friendly staff especially the owners. Well worth a visit for a meal or a pint or five!

First time eating under new management, excellent food, fairly priced, staff very friendly nothing too much for them. Would definately recommend, did notice on the menu they do smaller portions at lunchtime, if required.

A wonderful place to have a beautifully cooked meal or Sunday lunch. It has recently been transformed into everything a country pub should be. The service is excellent and nothing is ever too much trouble. Well worth a visit!

What a great find. Lovely Tudor pub with a real open fire. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from the staff. Great beer and amazing food. We ordered the senior lunch which was excellent and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to give this pub 5***** We will definitely be returning.

Excellent food and service in a pub full of character. I don't normally get excited about pub food but the home-made pies are just amazing.

After wanting somewhere for lunch before we started to set up the tent we happened upon The Black Pig. From the off the service of the ladies/girls behind the bar was fantastic. Attentive and accommodating when I asked if my daughter could have a small roast off menu. The food was fantastic, the rest of the family had ‘roast baguettes’ these were delicious and something you wouldn’t think to have normally. We were stuffed. Beer was good and the price was really reasonable. Highly recommended.

Excellent country pub, the Service was very very good, even after changing the travel dates, and needing a second room, the breakfast and evening meals were of top quality. Its the perfect place to stay when traveling to UK.

I'm not normally a fan of any kind of pubs but this.....this is an exception. This is a beautiful place to stop after a long walk, my family and I did go on a Tuesday when the kitchen was closed but that didn't matter. Reece was an absolute pleasure to be around, the true picture of a publican. He chatted with my husband, made us feel very welcome and let the kids play. The decor is beautiful, I love the hops around the ceiling and the barrel tables were a perfect touch. I absolutely loved the little knook. We stayed for over an hour enjoying the company while rehydrating after being lost 😁 My only regret is we didn't have time to return before our holiday ended.

Stayed for 1 night with a mate in a large twin room during a motorcycle trip. What an amazing pub. Rooms were immaculate and well equipped. Food was amazing, both evening meals and breakfast. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly. This is a 6 star venue. You won’t be disappointed ****** 👍

Great local village pub with comfortable rooms above to stay in on the first floor. I stayed for one night and had a very pleasant time - the food was good, the staff were lovely and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The highlight was the cooked breakfast which was not only the perfect size to staff the day, but one of the tastiest I'd had in years. If you're in to it, it's a fantastic location to take a bike ride from with sandwich bay and the main town less than ten miles away. There's also plenty of footpaths less than a stone's throw away to take a wander down.

Small pub located in the countryside, with beautiful decor and a good selection of drinks available, both well known brands and local selections being offered. The food was fantastic, and I couldn't fault it. I would come here again, most definitely.

We went for dinner on a Saturday evening, it wasn’t busy at that time. Service was easy and prompt, the food was pretty fast to arrive. There were not a lot of food options to choose from, but there were meat and veggie options. The food itself was fine, but not as good as my local hosts had said it would be unfortunately. I wouldn’t avoid, but I wouldn’t rush to return. The bacon I had was not cooked enough, the bready things on my partners meal were rubbery as if microwaved, my ice cream had ice in etc… none of these things are complain worthy. But they just added up to leave a less than 5 star experience. The staff however were friendly and polite. The pub itself has real character and looked very clean.

The pub is circa 1588, the year if the Spanish Armada and the building is very interesting. What a fabulous, traditional village pub with an excellent range of drinks served by such a friendly girl behind the bar. We also visit over the Jubilee weekend and enjoyed the pig roast in the garden. The village no longer has a village shop but the pub provides a shop which supplies a good number of necessities. We visited 3 times during our visit to a local campsite and we couldn't have felt more welcome. We will definitely visit again when in the area.
