Another excellent 3 night stay at my favourite hotel in the UK!!)) Received an upgrade which was an expected bonus and the breakfasts and dinners in the Garden Room were up at the usual high standard if quality, speed of service and attentive friendly staff. Lunch in the Garden Restaurant on our first visit & this is the best lunch I have enjoyed for years. Beautiful hotel with ample parking, variety of restaurants & snug bars & the staff are excellent. Would highly recommend this venue for any occasion as it’s perfect……
Oak room lunch Bread was very hard I was told, not enough butter. King prawn Tempura would have been nicer taken out of the shell and head. All mains very good Sherry trifle, not enough cream layer way to much fruit sponge. Excellent service, but it should be on a £500 lunch in a grand old restauran
Attended for Afternoon Tea, courtesy of my sister-in-law, with my wife. Good parking (Blue Badge Scheme) and efficient waiting staff. Tea was delicious and so generous that a few cakes were boxed up and taken home. Seated indoors which was comfortable, although the table could have been a tad larger

We stopped here on our way to Yorkshire for lunch. Excellent food and service, and wonderful history and atmosphere, so we stopped on the way back as well. So convenient on the A1. Will definitely go back
Booked for lunch midweek, travelled over an hour to get there didn't disappoint. Really impressed with attention to detail, quality of food, friendly staff. Can not wait to go again
Heaven on earth. Fact. The care and attention to detail that this traditional and wonderful establishment demonstrates continuously is quite a thing. It is the earmark of first class, Thank you for making my dad’s 70th so incredibly special and memorable. As always, The George does not disappoint. T
We didn't stay at the hotel. We just had a few drinks in the Pub. The two young ladies who tended the bar were awesome. The history there is amazing! 1000 years worth
Enjoyed afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon. Lovely choice of areas to sit including fireside. They also had a pianist. Highly recommend.
Fabulous lunch to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday with family. We all enjoyed the delicious food. Xoxox
While we weren't staying here, we did call in for a drink and something to eat. We were extremely well looked after and enjoyed the whole experience. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
An absolute must place to visit, experience ht wonderful multitude of ambiances that The George Hotel not only offer, but provide you with the best accommodation in all of Stamford, so you don't have to go home, simple as that. Amazing building, wonderful staff, child friendly and by far, the most
I love this hotel! I would give it 5 stars, but for the fact I have a disability and there is no lift.
We had lunch on the glass roofed covered terrace a beautiful setting Food was excellent with wide choice of traditional delights. We had crepe suzettes for pud ! Service impeccable.
Always a very pleasure to visit this historic hotel. Our dining experiences here have always been excellent.
First class service and the meals were excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It made my birthday treat from my Grandson, very special.
Lovely quirky hotel with loads of character. Deceptively spacious. Well kept and peaceful garden. Large car park. Easy stroll across the park to the town centre. Garden Restaurant food was very good but pricey. Oak Dining Room was very formal. Room comfortable - no lift and no tea making facilities
