Love the view. It's always nice to eat somewhere that you can sit outside and enjoy a view like this. Very peaceful. The only two issues I had were its cash only, and I asked for no tomatoes but received them. Luckily, I had cash on me, and I just picked off the tomatoes. No big deal. The food was outstanding. I got the chicken wrap and would definitely eat it again. A customer heard we were from out of town and said we had to try a donut since they are known for them. The donut was also very good. Super friendly staff and customers paired with good food and a great view. I highly recommend stopping here.

Great donuts and a unique atmosphere. Just a quick stop to pick up a couple donuts and coffee. Donuts delicious as promised on websites. Lake in back, some outdoor seating and tight indoor seating with wall to wall windows to take in lake views from every seat. Old school diner setting, nothing fancy, but packed with happy customers.

Small but cozy local breakfast/brunch restaurant just next to the lake. One side is all glasses, so you can eat breakfast/brunch while looking peaceful natures at the lake. Food is served freshly and the staff are friendly. The restaurant and restroom are clean. But CASH ONLY.

Lovely lake view. Food was delicious! I introduced a friend to this place and he loved it! Brought home donuts....what a treat.

I went to the Lakeside Diner with a few family friends the other day and was not disappointed. Although the diner can only house around 20 people sitting down at once, the view of the lake is beautiful. The food is nothing particularly special, but it was pretty good. They have large portions which filled me up very quickly. I didn't get to try their lakeside donut, because I just coudn't eat anymore. My friend said the donuts were delicious though. We weren't there for the food however, more so for the experience, which was great. The staff were great, and so was the frozen outlook.

Easily the best diner in the country for breakfast or lunch! Amazing menu, no scrimping on portions, all served to perfection. Owner and staff are friendly and accomodating. When you get the check if you are honest you will ask your server if there is an error and perhaps you should be charged more! Yep, go once and you will be a regular! Bring cash no credit cards. I love Lakeside Diner.

Discovered this gem a few days ago, and think it may well be my new go-to diner. It's a small space, so depending on the day, and the other diners, you may have to wait, but I promise it's worth it. Prices are on-par with, or slightly lower than, the average for Stamford. Excellent service, with friendly, and attentive staff. The food is cooked perfectly, and the portions are on point; you don't look at your food and immediately wonder whether you'll need to order a side or start planning your next meal to compensate like you would at other establishments in the area.... and there's the donuts... Their "donuts will make you go nuts." They're easily the best cinnamon sugar donuts in the city. Treat yourself and get one... or two.... or get them as French Toast, even. I saw Donut French Toast with Nutella and Banana on a chalkboard menu above the counter (where you'll find their seasonal specials) and had to try it. Unfortunately, it was good enough to effectively ruin French Toast for me anywhere else. Great omelettes, which come with properly cooked (and seasoned) potatoes. They have candy, and coin-operated gumball and toy dispensers by the register too. Cash only, and no ATM on site. Enjoy!

The first thing I liked about the atmosphere is that you can see a pleasant little lake outside the windows. It made dining there extra nice. The food was good for its price, not the best diner food I’ve ever had, but definitely decent. The customer service was good, but they were a little busy.

Amazing fresh donuts, small spot with 2 seater tables and an old school counter. Get a dozen donuts to go and if it’s warm, eat at an outdoor table on the lake behind the diner.

Lakeside Diner is amazing. Staff is really friendly & their pancakes are the Best I've ever eaten. Must also try their homemade famous sugar donuts 🍩. Great experience as every seat gives you a window view of the Lake outside. 👌

DELICIOUS food(large portions!), courteous staff with an amazing view!! Short Story - Flew into NY from CA and driving to Boston for a wedding. As we're driving through Connecticut, hunger hit. Found Lakeside diner, met the owner Jane and than the food is amazing. Janes warm welcome and friendliness in combination with the cleanliness of the diner made this one of the best diners I've ever been to. P.S. TRY THE DONUTS!

Came here because i95 said they were voted among the best donuts in America, definitely lived up to the hype. Even better than the donuts was our actual lunch! Super good, cash only though so come prepared.

Ended up here when trying to avoid Merritt Pwky traffic for a while. Glad we did! Teeny tiny spot with beautiful lake views. CASH ONLY, it was not very advertised but Google Reviews filled me in. Tasty, fast, no frills breakfast and brunch. DEFINITELY get one of the cinnamon sugar donuts (or a couple), they are AWESOME.

Classic diner with a nice view and good food. Good portions and price. It sometimes gets busy and service struggles a bit. Margarine, not butter. Muffin is more cake than muffin but otherwise, everything was excellent.
