Up until recently I used to pop to my local pub for a Sunday roast, however, on my last trip I found the chef had moved on. How happy I was to find he hadn’t moved too far and was now working at Vera’s Cafe. His Sunday roast’s are simply amazing, in fact all his food is. Everything is homemade and tastes delicious. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome.
Don’t be put off by it being in a garden centre or by it being a ‘cafe’, this place is one of the best restaurants in the area and I’ll be certainly having my Sunday roast there from now on.
Lovely place in the past had cake and tea, yesterday we tried the chicken pie was delicious fresh veg and potatoes couldn't fault any of it, also the farm shop has lovely produce
Mum and I came in today and had a meal which was excellent. Staff very attentive. Spent too much in the shop as you have so much to choose from.
I went here today with two friends for lunch...we had a great time & the service was great.
My friends had the salmon & I had a cheese ploughmans..one friend is a vegetarian & was a little disapointed by the lack of choice ..but really enjoyed the salmon.
One point I would like to make is that I would have liked my salad to have had some dressing.
Thank you everyone at Vera’s for a lovely Afternoon Tea. A tower full of goodies, with any type of tea or coffee, with refills & all for only £10 each if booked in advance. It was a fabulous treat & we will return.
We came in for breakfast this morning with our two young daughters. Lovely cafe, friendly staff and food was delicious. Highly recommended. Thank you
Tried the late night Italian menu last night. It was really lovely. As I'm vegetarian I had only one choice of main course, which was mushroom risotto, it was very tasty and nicely cooked. The desserts were varied and the cheesecake I chose was delicious. My partner isn't vegetarian and he said his meal was lovely too. Since Vera's has been open I've tried breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea and all has been to a high standard.
Omg we won a competition. The food was so delicious amazingly yummy homemade desserts staff very friendly and helpful would highlyrecommend we love love loved it .
Delicious cakes and lovely coffee for a very reasonable price!! I had the carrot cake which was the best I've had in a long while! Will definitely be back and would recommend! :-D
Had beef stew, mash and peas for lunch. I must recommend Mark (head chef) on a lovely, tasty stew. As always.
Just had a fabulous breakfast, poached eggs cooked to perfection. Lovely staff and lovely food. Great
Friendly and welcoming staff. Dropped in for breakfast at the end of our boating holiday.
Had Big Wellie breakfast and a Flat White. Coffee was served piping hot.
Breakfast was tepid when it arrived and my poached egg was hard, otherwise the food itself was excellent quality and very tasty.
Serves a wide selection of cakes (Inc gluten free option) and tray bakes, although we were too full for anything more.
Venue had plenty of tables, and felt a little clinical, although we loved the interesting light arrangement.
Very popular. Arrived at opening time and it had filled up by the time we left.
Will try again when back in the area
Lovely afternoon tea treat for my birthday. Will definitely come back x
Very nice breakfast options, excellent service. Would definitely visit again.
Lovely breakfast, fresh grown food used
Always pop in for lunch w grandchild also on many occasions.Lovely fresh food n excellent service and we always come again. We also buy few things from the fresh excellent produce and meat.During strawberries season we all injoy picking some to take home.
Excellent! Great service from good humoured friendly staff. I had the fish finger ciabatta sandwich. It was wrongly described. Large "fingers" of cod in a lovely batter. As far from Captain Birds Eyes offering as you can imagine. An excellent salad and a pot of tartar sauce. Highly recommended!
Stopped off for a breakfast meal. Friendly staff. Clean establishment. Quick service. Accommodating. Allowed us to use table on the proviso we knew it was already booked. Food was piping hot, simple but very nice.
Very good service. Farm fresh food for the menu's.
Very enjoyable time their.
Good idea to book a table, if planning for lunch..
Very popular 👌 👍 👏
Well done to all the staff.
Thank you. See you again soon!
Lovely breakfast! I had the eggs royal which was really tasty. We sat outside in the sun and it was lovely. Food was really quick and the service was very nice. Worth the visit!
We’ve just had the most delicious lunch at Vera’s. It was hard to choose from such a great selection. However, in the end we both opted for Fish of the Day, which was salmon. It came with a generous amount of fresh veg and new potatoes and was cooked beautifully.
The staff are all really friendly, especially the lovely Elisha ( what a credit to the business!) and the venue always has a welcoming feel to it.
Well done and Thank You everyone x
Great cake of day very tasty and coffee is exceptional
Had a late breakfast here today but I ordered Eggs Benedict and very disappointed that the poached eggs were solid. Much prefer them with runny yolks. Bought two slices of cake home for later and the carrot cake was amazing.
Fantastic! We were let down by another venue that we had booked for a 75th birthday meal. Vera's were able to accommodate us at very short notice.
The food was amazing! Especially the Steak and Ale pie, wow! Very filling and tasty.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere.
We have tried the breakfast menu in the past and that's brilliant too.
My husband said that going to Vera's made his day and he couldn't be happier. Thank you to all the staff for making his day special ❤️
