My mum had her wedding reception here and the food they supplied was fantastic! They were able to cater for vegetarians and vegans very well. Some of the guests stayed overnight here and they said it was great, no problems to report at all.
I've been back for other meals and would definitely recommend it.
Great little pub with a good menu and food was great. Good home cooked food and hosts very friendly. Would definitely recommend having a meal here if your in the area. Pub is small so would recommend you book especially in the tourist season.
Great proper old fashioned country pub, excellent beer and home cooked food. Nice relaxing atmosphere with comfortable seating & real fires. Perfect !
Excellent small pub. Very cosy lounge area with living room sofas and a log burner. The proper steak pie was delicious and Theakstons beer is great.

Brilliant. Just arrived for a week in the area and this gem is 5 minutes walk from our cottage. Just what you want from a proper country pub. Cosy fire, good beer, friendly atmosphere and excellent service and good to find someone who actually knows how to pull a proper pint (which appears to be something of a dying art these days)!
If you want a traditional, authentic REAL pub. Then this is the place.
What a find! it's a lovely rewarding walk from Staithes. So cozy sitting round the fire, the best thing of all, no TV blasting no music blaring, just a good conversation could be had, and a great attentive service by Paul the landlord.
