Amazing pub in fact the best I’ve been to in a long while. Beautiful location and equally as beautiful inside. Lovely beer garden overlooking Stainforth Beck. The sound of the fast running water is amazing. Great selection of quality ale, the decor as full of character and charm and the landlord is very pleasant and friendly. I will be returning to try the food. Beef dripping fish and chips served here and it sound delicious. Very much looking forward to going back to try it. All in all it’s a brilliant pub.
We came not knowing what to expect and left with a massive smile on our faces. The lovely lady who cooked our pizza was super lovely and everything on the menu is made fresh and it was so yummy! Soon as we set foot in we was greeted and felt very welcome. Overall was really good we are planning on coming back and this place is the first stop we will be going too!
Came for a few drinks and a bite to eat after walking up Pen-y-ghent and were blown away by the warm, friendly, and generous welcome we received. Food was delicious but we will definitely be back for the service most of all. A welcome family run pub.
We had our new years day meal with my family here , there were 10 of us with a variety of different meal choices. The meals came out together, the food was presented really, really well and tasted fantastic. I definitely recommend and will be back again.
Had a quick break booked at the last minute and were greeted by a friendly cheerful team. The room was lovely and we were very touched to be given a complementary breakfast basket as we hadn't booked for breakfast. The beer garden overlooking the beck was the icing on the cake for me. Lovely quiet beautiful area. Will definitely visit again
Great pub in Stainforth. The landlord has a lot of great stories to tell and is an interesting fellow.
On a hot summers day we walked here from Settle and had a pint and some ice cream. It’s a good halfway stopover and it is nice to reward yourself for the walk over. Lovely beer garden and clean toilets. We didn’t stay for food but the menu looked interesting.
Came here in Nov 2021 for dinner and warmth when power was out in our Horton weekend cottage and got the last two roasts! Then joined the music quiz and lost but it was fun. And when we mentioned our power was out the landlord gave us wood and coal for nothing, amazingly generous. Shame about the COVID we also took away because the place was packed. But not their fault :)
Lovely pub in a lovely setting. Friendly bar and waiting staff. Beef an ale pie was so full it might cause a beef shortage, full of flavour too. Chef pops out to ask clients if everything has been good. That’s a very good sign of a very good place to eat.

Gail & Garry had a fabulous stay here Saturday night, lovely location, lovely food. Hosts and locals very welcoming, played pool and then had an impromptu music quiz which was such a laugh and enjoyed by all. Room immaculate too. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.
Quick overnight getaway . Lovely friendly staff and nice clean rooms. Nothing really in the village but we wanted to go to settle anyway.added bonus big lights switch on so that was very festive. Locals very friendly
We stayed here for one night and what a lovely place. The room was exceptionally clean and well decorated with an immaculate and modern bathroom. Breakfast was perfect with a great selection but most of all the staff were the most welcoming, accommodating and friendly group of people you could wish to meet. I would have no hesitation to recommend this pub/hotel as a great base for exploring the Dales. Many many thanks.
We visited this pub as we were staying at the Knights Stainforth campsite... it’s less than a ten minute walk away and so glad we booked! After our 12 mile walk the beers on the terrace in the sunshine were perfect... we ate in the bar area, good choice of food and drinks... really friendly staff and a hearty meal enjoyed by all. Would certainly recommend!!
Booked bed and breakfast for two people, at the last minute there were three of us but the staff were able to accommodate us with no drama, lovely family room airy with nice decor and en suit shower and toilet, modern and clean. Good breakfast to set you up for the day. Evening meals available. Some nice local beauty spots if you enjoy a bit of walking. A very pleasant stay staff could not be more helpful and we will certainly be going back

Warm open fire . Dog friendly and welcoming to young children.
